her hand grazed mine as she reached for my math book

suddenly, i could feel my heart beat faster

but not because of sage.

although we were sitting very close to each other

her eyes skimmed the book, and my failed equations

"you didn't include this." she pointed at something

"oh."

i didn't exactly see what i didn't include

but sage didn't need to know that

she started writing something, i presumed to be the answer

"are you going skating with the others?"

how was she solving a problem, while making conversation?
"i guess."

i was only going, because i hated missing out on stuff

and maybe, sage should fall again, hopefully not on my lap this time.

suddenly, sitting next to sage felt intimate

the way her thighs grazed mine

and her shoulder touched mine

too intimate, i could say.

"i'm going to.." i gave the door a look

"already?"

"i've done a question."

"you mean, i've done a question?"

"same difference." i stood up, as i spoke

i packed up my things, as did sage.

while i was grabbing my book, my hand touched sages.

i quickly pulled away, and looked away from sage

for some reason, my face grew warm.
