i left the bathroom, looking slightly better than before

sage wasn't in the room, and i assumed she was downstairs

could i leave without sage seeing me?

my headache wasn't going away, even after the advil

and talking wasn't making it better

i slipped downstairs, and still i didn't see sage

"leaving so soon?"
standing in front of me, was sage.

how had i not noticed her?

"the company here isn't that enjoyable, so yes."

"and how do you expect to go home?"
"i'll figure it out,"
"sure you don't need a ride?"

"i'd rather walk."
"harsh, do you even know how far your house is?"

that was something i hadn't thought about

she'd driven me home from the party, and brought me here

but i hadn't thought about how she got me into her room

"how did you get me into your room if i was asleep?" i asked, ignoring her question

her cheeks flushed, as if she wasn't expecting that

"well i, you know."
"do i really though?"

and then she did that cute nose scrunch

"you know, that's not something you'd do for someone you hate." i continued,

"brynn, i'm sure you realized how good you looked, always look, really."

she stepped forward, and my breath hitched in my throat

"and you know, that's not the only redeeming quality about you."

she paused, trailing a finger down my cheek, and i froze

"but i hate you, right?"

i really hate you, i think?Where stories live. Discover now
