8. Late night run

Asher's/Blaze's Pov.

After the hearty reunion and the filling dinner we finally ended up in the living room talking and immersing ourselves in the wholesome family atmosphere. But a while later I whisper to Sam.

"Come on, love! Blaze and I want to go on a run with you!" I let go of my hold on her and wait for her to help me up.

"Alright! Mom, we're going on a run! Don't wait up for us!" Sam says already pulling me closer to the door facing the forest at the back of the packhouse.

"Okey sweetie! But Asher has to stay here for the night! I still have to talk to him in the morning!" Sarah commands and I just shake my head. Why would I leave now, when I can sleep with my mate in my arms I think but got I feeling I forgotten something.

We exit the house and walk to the edge of the forest. Sam is looking at me excitedly and I can feel Blaze also wants to get out so I take a couple steps back and tell Sam to stay where she is.

"He's really big so you don't wanna be too close when I shift." and she nods.

I feel my body heating up and slowly my consciousness switches with Blaze him being in control of our now changing body. My bones starts to morph, my muscles expand and stretch and my pitch black fur starts to grow out at an incredible speed. Because I wanted for Sam to see the shift, it happened slower than when I go to hunt but even whit me holding back it was not longer than thirty seconds.

I stand before her now looking down from high above as my hight at my withers is two point two meters and if I stretch my neck it reaches more than two and a half meters at the top of my head. She is taken aback by me I can tell, but soon relaxes and comes closer.

"Blaze, your really are a big bad wolf." She whispers while hugging my neck and scratching behind my ears. "I've never seen a wolf this big! You're magnificent." She tells me and it makes me wag my tail and I let out a low growl form the joy.

She pulls back and points to her head. "Amber can't wait." and with that she also starts to shift.

She is beautiful! No, gorgeous! Her snow white fur has a silver gleam on it under the moonlight and her amber eyes are glowing with an intensive golden light.

"You're perfect!" I say to her in the mindlink, which is, to our surprise, very strong. We didn't mate and didn't mark each other but it's so strong I can almost feel how she feels.

I go closer to her and we start to sniff each other and rub against one another trying to pass on our scent. She even starts to lick my nose and it feels amazing so I do it as well.

"Blaze. I want to run with you." she says and I nod.

She is so small, well compared to me, so I do hold back with my speed, running next to her, but I can't stop all the positive emotions that are clouding my mind. It's not just my feelings I can tell she is overwhelmingly happy as we go through the forest passing by the trees.

Soon we reach a small clearing among the trees and she jumps on me. We start to roll around on the ground sometimes nibbing, or licking at each other while playing. As I lay next to her she starts to whimper as if crying but I know she's happy, so I just tilt my head waiting for her to tell me when she's ready.

"I'm so lucky." she looks me in the eye. "I got a really awesome human, and even though we often fought with Sam over the possibility of our mate being either a man or a woman I never imagined we could have both." she goes on, and I put my head around hers.

"You and Asher are amazing! And I can't thank the goddess enough for making you my mate!" she sighs and looks up at the Moon full of gratitude, and I do the same, feeling grateful myself.

Time flies and we played, rested and now are walking towards a small creek so that we could drink a bit before running back home. As we walk I can't stop myself from looking at her from time to time.

"Stop staring and juts say it if you have something to say." she says a bit annoyed but a bit flustered as well.

"No it's nothing... I didn't want to say anything I was just enchanted by how perfect and beautiful you are, Amber." I say to her honestly, which makes her shy, her ears flattening out on her head.

"If you didn't have anything to say why even say this..." she mumbles quietly in my mind and it warms my heart how cute she is.

We reach the creek and after drinking we run back to the edge of the forest under the moonlight.

The night is quiet and we are enjoying this comfortable silence on our way back. Here and there we smell the animals of the forest and I almost got the urge to go on a hunt with Amber but remembering that Asher and Sam has school tomorrow I shake my head and focus on the run with my mate.

" There are clothes for Asher under the oak tree." she says after we arrived, but before I can respond she goes on. "If you peek I swear I rip her head of!" after the threat she walks behind one of the spruce trees.

No, I can't take this! She is too cute! I find myself liking more and more this mate of mine as I start to shift back, behind the massive oak, feeling as Asher takes back.

I find a small bag of clothes after a shifted and quickly put on some sweatpants not bothering with a shirt or shoes. Than after hearing that Sam's also finished I walk towards her. But what meets me is a high pitched scream.

"Goddess! Why aren't you wearing anything!?" she whisper-yells turning away and making me laugh.

"But I'm wearing sweatpants!" I point to it with both of my hands, then reach out and turn her so she can look at me. Her face is red and she tries to avoid eye contact, so I grab her chin and make her look into my eyes.

"Sooner or later you will see it so why are you so shy! It's not like you didn't see guys without shirts, plus I'm your mate so you can look all you want, and get used to it love, 'cuz I sleep shirtless." and it makes her blush more.

"Ahh.. all you do is tease me!" she pouts but still takes a step back to look at me.

And while she was checking me out I grabbed her hand interlocking our fingers. "If you're satisfied let's go in and sleep, we have school tomorrow." I whisper in her ear. She giggled and bobbed her head as we went inside.
