20. Pep talk & Preparations

Asher's Pov.

|At Maggie's|

Sam and the girls went to the toilet while I finished eating her leftovers. My mind still a bit out of place but much better after I could focus on Sam and on what happened to us. Even though I didn't really wanted to talk about with the others I knew I had to not just for them but for me and Sam as well.

The guys were talking to Archie, and Greg had his arm around him, which he obviously liked, but than he looked at me and I could see he was hesitant to speak.

"What's up? If you have something you want to know just ask!" I straightened up on my seat.

"Ah! Well... I was just wondering how you have the strength to restrain yourself and not mark Sam, I can't imagine doing that not after I met Alice and Greg. It must be hard!" he said and scratched his neck.

"Humm... Yeah! It's fucking hard, man!!!" I sighed a bit exaggerating to which they laughed but not in a mean way because I could see they emphasized with me. "I mean some Lycans have it more rough if they meet their mate right after a full moon, but thankfully I just have to wait a bit more than a week! Just till next Friday!" I said as a pep talk to myself and put out my fist so they can bump it!

"Yeah that's the spirit!"
"Fighting!!"
"We all here for you and Sam!! So if you need anything just ask!!" they all said encouraging words and I felt better, although I still have to wait for seven days!

"Hoo?! What's this hyped atmosphere? What were you guys talking about?" Taylor asked as she and the other two came back.
"Probably some guy talk, about encouragement or brotherhood!" Alice added and this piqued Taylors interest.
"Maybe they talked about us, or Sam!!" She added and shared a look with Alice than both turned to Sam, than us.

"Goddess stop this gossiping!" I started than stood up. " We talked about self control, and now that I have what I've waited for I wish you all a good night! Oh, and don't forget to come early tomorrow." I remarked than with a swift move I scooped up Sam in my arms and took off.

|Rose Pack House|

"You do know that, that was mean." Sam looked at me as if I wronged her, after I put her down.

"What can I say, I had a very hectic day and I just wanted you all to myself." I stepped closer to her, pushing her against the edge of the bed.

"Asher are you sure this is okey after what happened today?" Sam questioned a bit nervous.
I put my hand around her waist and slowly gave her a deep kiss not letting her go untill I felt her out of breath. Pulling away I looked into her eyes, my hand wandering up and down her back, caressing her gently. "Don't worry love, I'm just gonna hold you so put on your pj. I really am tired!" I said whispering in a low voice which made her shiver in my arms.
She slipped away and after getting her pj she ran to the bathroom with a red face.

I also changed and than we both layed on the bed. I was spooning her our legs intertwined under the sheets. Maybe I was holding her a bit too tightly because she moved my hand away and turned to face me.

"I'm here Asher, so don't suffocate me." she said and gave me a peck.
"Sorry."
"I know today was hard, but you were there for me and in the end it all played out well." she comforted me.
"But I still hurt yo..Agh!! Why did you pinch me?!" I yelled after she pinched my side.
"Because your an idiot! I told you its not your fault! And I don't want you to feel guilty for something you had no control over. Anyways let's just sleep! Do you want me to sing to you?" she replied and asked.
"Humm.. like a lullaby?"
"Yeah."
"Will you? Really?"
"Yeah..."

|The next day|

We started the day earlier than usual and thanks to Sarah and John preparing we had all the ingredients for the get-together. I marinated the meet while Sam and the gang started chopping the veggies and peeling the potatoes.

As usual Sarah and John were just watching me do all the work, and directing the arriving pack members. By noon all the food was ready and we were just waiting for Natalie and her not so secret mate she was bringing home as a suprise.
With Sam on my side we mingled in the crowd and as the time went by I got to meet everyone in the Rose Pack.

A bit later as I was speaking to Sarah and Sam I heard low whispering behind me as a bunch of pups tried to approach me whilst giggling. I pretend I didn't noticed but I saw in my mate's eye and Sarah's that they also discovered what was happening behind me. And just as predicted four kids jumped on me one on my leg two on my arms and the last around my neck grabbed me.

"Hahaha!!"
"We captured a Lycan!"
"Hihi!"
"Mom look! Look! We have him!!"
They yelled and this got everyone's attention. Playing along I started!

"Haha! Foolish! You don't have enough to stop me! Haha!" I laughed and started to run around with the pups on me.

"Noo! This can't be!
"We need more!!"
"Joey, come and help!"
"We can't let the Lycan go!"
The kids cried for reinforcement and like magic a dozen other kids jumped on me trying to hold me down! I kid you not I had at least fifteen of this little brats on me, but I was still moving. Well.. not really running anymore as I was inching forward bit by bit under the mountain of pups but by now the rest of the pack was laughing with us as well.
And so I was pushed to the ground by the younglings after a minute of struggling.

"We have him!!"
"Hahaha!"
"We defeated a Lycan!"
"A mythical beats was slain!"
"Hehe! Dad look!"

They all cheered on top of me until I heard Sam's voice.

"Okey you lot now that you got her, let her breathe I can't even see her." She scolded but with a very sweet tone.
I guess she likes pups, I made a mental note while the kids got off me.

Sam stepped into view and had the most beautiful smile on her face offering her hand to me to help me up.
"There you go! The mighty Lycan who was slain by pups." she laughed with her sweet voice.
I stood up and took in her mesmerising figure. "Your beautiful!" I said to her as I was getting lost in her eyes.
She was blushing but not as much as before, probably getting used to my constant compliments in the last couple of days. Her eyes glimmered in a different light and she pulled me closer.
"So mighty Lycan what rewards will you give to your saviour." she teased and I could see a naughty idea surface in her amber orbs.
"Humm... I have nothing to offer but my body oh hero of mine! Or if that is not enough you shall have my soul and my eternal love." I whispered in her ear and this finally made her whole face turn into a tomato. Giving her a quick kiss  I stepped away as I smelled a scent all to familiar, approaching us accompanied by another. I guessed that the one I didn't know was Natalie but than I realized what is happening and a smirk formed on the edge of my mouth.

"Now this should be fun!"
