25. Plans & Vampires

Asher's Pov.

Listening to Mark's rambling some would think he's not older than a young adult, but you would be surprised by his actual age.
It was good hearing his voice but before he plans my entire life I had to stop him... I had my own plans and they mostly only included me spending time with my mate alone, especially after the marking.

"That all sounds amazing Brother, but I'm busy till next Tuesday..." I cut him mid sentence.

They all looked my way only John still focused on his food. Sam was chewing but looking up from her plate.

"Oh.. wait, but what are you doing? I thought you only work a couple days a month..." Mark asked taken aback, but instead of answering I just let out my thoughts.

"Humm... well maybe till next Wednesday... depends on how tried Sam will be..." I wondered and this made John and Sam choke on their food, and Sarah choke on air.

Nathan and Natalie was knowingly nodding their heads and Mark even though shocked just accepted my reasoning.

Sam's face was red and she was trying to hide it from her parents while I just gave them a smug smile leaning back to my chair, and putting one arm around my mate.

"So... anything you plan should be on Wednesday after next week.  You should also invite Heron... he's a work addict. And I haven't seen my other Nephew in ages..." I suggest and Mark gives me a knowing look.

"At least my other son is grown up!" he sighed.

The afternoon came and now with Mark here we had endless topics to talk about. John and Sarah was especially intrigued by the vampire on their couch.

"So Mark... how old are you really?" John asked, casually changing the subject of our talk.

"Well... we didn't have dates back then but if I calculated right I should be five thousand six hundred and eleven years old, give or take a few!"

"Hiss..." Sarah gasped! "I feel like I child... this is so weird." she said placing her head into her palms.

"Haha! Don't worry! I learned to except my inner child so I never felt old or thought others were not mentally mature. If you think about it, vampire's often have a same ideology and mentality because it makes life easier and relationships more acceptable. It's something that comes with immortality and we all have to embrace if we want to remain sane." he said patiently making the couple feel at ease.

"That makes me feel better, thanks!" Sarah smiled and John bobed his head in agreement. "I guess we'll have to come to terms with it eventually..." she trailed off.

"Do you have siblings? I mean besides Asher?" John asked again.

Mark was surprised by the couples honest interest in him so he replied confidently.

"No... well actually that's not true." He looked at me and I just shrugged, being totally fine with him telling the story behind it. "We had a big sister..." he started and I saw the blood leave their faces! Sam turned to me worried but I held her tight and gave her a sweet smile, assuring not to think the worst.

"Goddess, it's not that! She's not dead... well still a vampire, but she just became our Auntie! Haha!" Mark quickly explains, scratching the back of his neck. "Our father sired Eve roughly six thousand years ago but a day after she changed and became a fully turned vampire she mated with father's big sister, Isabella! Because of the mate bond between vampires was created her sire bond with father broke as if it wasn't there in the first place... kinda messed up if you ask me but anyways... It's like she was never part of his lineage so we can't really call her sister, she's our Auntie!" my brother tells them and they all just sit in silence.
Yeah, if you didn't figured it out by now our family relations are a mess!

"Pops! Enough of the heavy stuff! Let's talk about when we go back to the Pack!" Nathan broke the quiet and slightly emotional atmosphere, and turned his gaze to me.

"Humm... well Sam has a test Tuesday so we can go early Wednesday or the afternoon that day, I still have to introduce her to her future Pack as their Luna, but I also want her to meet a very special... person? on Thursday. Friday is full moon so we'll go up to my hillside house near the Pack. We'll probably be there for three to four days, so make sure you'll have enough stuff with you!" I share my plans looking into Sam's eyes asking for agreement.

"I'm okey with that..." she answered, her cheeks in a shade of pink.

"Oh! Than can we go to a double date tomorrow!!" Nathan gushed excited asking me for permission! Natalie was beaming hearing his idea and I saw Sam's eyes lit up.

The parents just shook their heads, amused by their children.

"Humm... that's fine, after school though! I'm not happy that Sam has to miss out so let's keep it to the minimum." I agreed and this earned me a kiss from my beautiful mate!

We chatted for a bit more but after the sun reached the horizon Mark stood up.

"Okey-dokey! I think I'm gonna go, still have a company to run and a father that stresses about not having enough paper clips on his desk!" he said walking to the door, having us follow him. "It was nice meeting you Sarah, John!" he said his goodbyes than turned to Natalie. "Hey, kiddo! I'm really happy Nathan has you now, and please beat some sense into my son! I guess we didn't really had a heart to heart conversation but I'm hoping next time we make up for it!" he pulled her into a bear hug than looked at my nephew.

"Hi Pops!" Nathan said and hugged his father.

"Yeah... be safe, and for Goddess's sake call your mother more often! She almost made me sleep on the couch again!" he warned him while embracing him.

He said his goodbyes to Sam and focused his attention to me.

"Take care of Father!" I said to him and he nodded than gave me a look his chin pointing to Nathan. I also bobed my head promising to watch out for Nathan.

He hugged me and with a bright smile on his face he ran off. "Nice seeing you Sis!" was all that echoed in the night!
