Ciel trudged back to his room grumpily. His eye was zeroed in on the carpet beneath his feet as he stomped to his room. Unfortunately for him, that'd cost him.

A yelp slipped past his lips as he bumped into someone and began to fall back. An all too familiar voice yelled, "Young Master!" before he was caught by the waist. Ciel looked up into Nagisa's lapis eyes, flustered, and found himself at a loss for words.

Moonlight crept into the hallway through a crack in the curtain and illuminated a portion of Nagisa's face. One of his eyes glowed in the light while the other remained in the shadows of the night with the rest of his face. Ciel saw his lips - his pale pink lips that most definitely had honey coating it due to their lack of "chapstick" - move, but his words fell upon deaf ears.

He couldn't explain why his brain decided to hyper focus on Nagisa's features. Maybe he was sleep deprived? Or was this stress catching up to him? After those two arrived, it certainly makes sense...

"Young Master, are you okay?!" Nagisa exclaimed in Ciel's face. Said blunet jumped in surprise before pulling away from Nagisa.

"Of course I am! Why did you yell?!" For some odd reason, Ciel re-tied his robe. His cheeks felt like it was on fire, but he ignored it for the sake of keeping his dignity (also ignoring the way he has very little left when it came to one on one interactions with Nagisa).

"Oh, that's because you weren't responding to me." Nagisa thought that his method was the simplest thing ever, but Ciel seemed to think it absurd. He sighed and resumed walking to his room. After beckoning Nagisa to his side, the conversation resumed.

"I fulfilled my end of the deal."

Nagisa paused in his tracks. "...We made a deal?" The second he noticed the irk mark on Ciel's forehead the older blunet scrambled through his memories for anything related to a deal. "Ohhh! That. Aha, I can't believe I forgot that."

"Why am I not surprised?" Ciel sighed. "Now, you have to hold up your end of the deal."

"Alright, alright," Nagisa raised his hands in mock surrender, "No need to be so pushy."

"Well, I can't have you forgetting this again, now can I?" Ciel teased as he entered his room.

"Oh, ha, ha. Very funny. Maybe joining the circus was your true calling!"

A scowl appeared on Ciel's lips in a flash. "Just tell me what you were thinking about while Soma was talking about Meena," he grumbled as Nagisa tucked him into bed. 'What a mood swing,' he thought, resisting the urge to smile. It reminded him of a cat. 'Is this why Sebastian teases him so much?'

"I know that I've been here for months now, but I don't think I'll ever get accustomed to being in the era of colonialism. Even if there are places that gained independence already, there are still so many other places that haven't gained independence yet. I'm literally living through history and it's horrible. I hate seeing people suffer from diseases I know will get a cure. I hate seeing all of these problems and being unable to help anyone because I know how it'll end. Just by being here I'm messing up the timeline but I can't take any risks when it comes to these things, you know?" Even after he spoke, Nagisa's eyes remained trained on the bed. A sad smile danced across his face as his eyes dropped even more. Ciel didn't fail to notice the way his eyes got glossy as he continued to speak.

"What's worse is that creatures I believed to be fictional exist. I've never encountered them in my time so do they even really exist? Or is this another universe? But what if it really is the past and once I return, whenever that is, I'll run into a Grim Reaper or something?" By now, his eyes had raised and locked with Ciel's. A moment of silence passed as they just stared into each other's eyes, one searching for the answers he's been longing for while the other tries to find said answers.
