TW: Swearing.

•~•~•

Nagisa stared at the screen of his phone with a heavy heart. '85%,' it read. Tonight was the night he would shut off his phone and keep it that way unless it was a special occasion.

Like his birthday. Or Christmas. Or Easter...if he's still stuck in 1888 when Easter rolls around. And he'll definitely turn it back on when he returns to his world - that's something he was certain about.

A yawn suddenly escaped Nagisa's lips, effectively catching the drowsy male by surprise. With a sigh, he shut off his phone.

He was too tired to think about everything he'd miss doing on his phone late at night. But it's not like he had that much time to do much at night anyway. He would usually be so tired after training with Sebastian that he'd shower straight away and then fall asleep once he's collapsed on his bed.

Longing seeped its way into Nagisa's heart as he drifted away. With his last bit of energy, he pushed it away.

He didn't want to feel homesick tonight.

If there was one thing Nagisa never liked doing, it would be catching rats. It's not that he hated it, per se, he just preferred doing other things instead. Like right now, for instance.

The rats which invaded the Manor ate the wires in the ceiling wires and survived. A part of Nagisa believed that that was possible, but the part of Nagisa that vividly recalls the time Nagisa got shocked because of an exposed wire on a string of freaking Christmas lights begged to differ.

"Damn rats," Bard cursed bitterly from his place atop the ladder.

"Rats again?" Mey-rin inquired warily.

"There's been a lot this year..." Finny trailed off.

"I've heard there's been a plague of these freaks in London," Bard made his way down the ladder as he spoke.

"There's no way they could've come by foot here then," Nagisa concluded.

"They're constantly causing power outages. It's bad for business," Bard was about to continue when Finny suddenly yelled.

Nagisa had seen what the gardener saw too: a rat scuttling by behind Bard. Nagisa immediately leaped at the rat's form with his arms outstretched - hoping to capture the rat and getting it over with. But, alas, life had different plans for the blunett.

Instead of letting himself (or herself) be caught by Nagisa, the rat made a sudden swerve and escaped the lapis-eyed boy. Nagisa crashed into the wall harshly and head first.

"RAT SIGHTED!!" Finny screeched as he picked up a podium to throw at the rat. Said creature froze for a second when he witnessed what the forest green-eyed male was doing.

Meanwhile, Nagisa laid on the floor in a crumpled heap with a head that felt like it was splitting open. 'Is...Is that a bird?' He thought when he saw the mouse jump away from where Finny had slammed the podium. Bard and Mey-rin screamed in terror but Nagisa was too out of it to even notice that sounds were coming out of their mouths.

Yeah, Nagisa definitely hit his head way too hard to still have even somewhat clear thoughts.

"Ah, it got away. Tee-hee," Finny stuck his tongue out in a silly manner.

"DON'T GIVE ME YOUR "TEE-HEE"! YOU ALMOST KILLED ME TOO!" Bard yelled.

"Oh my goodness! Nagisa! Are you alright?!" Mey-rin frantically tried to run to Nagisa, but ended up tripping on a piece of debris that was the result of the podium smashing against the floor and gave the dusty floor a sweet and unintentional kiss.
