i take the upgraded suit off the clothes hanger that hung in my closet, throwing it into my bed along with my mask. crossing my arms at the hem of my shirt, i pull it up and off, folding it on my bed. i get out of my sweatpants too, folding that on top of my shirt.

i pick up the suit, admiring the red and blue colors before leaning down. i put a leg through the loose neck hole, then putting the other leg in. i jump up, pulling the suit up quickly in the process, slipping my arms in the sleeves. then picking up the mask, looking at it with a smile, before pulling it over my head. i press the the spider logo, feeling the suit satisfyingly tighten around my body. looking down, i put my middle and ring finger down to press the web shooter, activating it. the holographic lens comes on, showing a heads up display. a blue, holographic outline of my web shooter spreading on top of my normal web shooter. i look around, opening my eyes wider for a second, hearing my lens move as my eyes widen. i walk to my balcony door, jumping up onto the balcony railing.

i jump off it, diving off the second floor of my house before pressing my web shooter to a building. THWIP! i swing around for a solid 15 minutes, before landing on aunt may and happy's condominium. i knock on the door, the door swinging open after i hear some unlocking of clicks. "hey y/n, come in," happy says. i walk in, pulling off my mask. "hey y/n!" aunt may says, walking up to me. "hey, may," i say, hugging her.

i twirl the spaghetti around my fork, soon placing it in my mouth. "how is it? is it good?" may asks. i nod, swallowing. "as amazing as always," i respond with a smile. she sighs, picking up her glass of coke. "can't believe you're 19," she says. "believe it," i say sarcastically, making her roll her eyes with a chuckle. "you couldn't be bothered to drive here?" happy asks. "why waste gas?" i defend. happy shrugs in defeat, going back to eating his food.

i start to wash up, may packing the dishes in the dishwasher. "are you going on night patrol after this?" she asks, placing a plate in. "yeah, what're you doing?" i ask, drying my suit gloves on the dishtowel after finishing the dishes. "maybe watch a movie with happy or something," she says. "cute," i mumble, laughing as may hits my arm with the back of her hand. "we need to find you someone," may says, drying her hands too, "you're so lonely in that big house of yours!" "i'm fine on my own aunt may, i've got a lot on my plate to balance."

i leave the condominium, jumping and starting to swing around. i sit down at the edge of an apartment building, letting my legs dangle off the side as i admire los angeles. i wait 5 minutes for a dispatch call connected to my mask, hearing nothing. "god, i hate quiet nights," i say to myself.

THWIP! i shoot a web to the other building opposite, then sticking the web onto the building i was on, creating a tight rope. i smile, standing up. i step onto the web, walking along it until i reach the middle of the rope. i bend my knees, making the web sink to the middle before jumping up and doing a front flip. i land perfectly on the thin web, walking back to the other side. then back again. then back. i groan, before my eyes  go wide as i hear a call. "suspected robbery, officers needed in gramercy, please copy." i jump off the web, starting to swing to gramercy street. by now, i had almost every street in la memorized.

seeing 6 figures trying to break into an ice-cream store, all huddled around each other as 2 try to pick the lock, 4 looking out onto the road. i drop down from the streetlamp, in which the 4 raise their guns at me. "you guys do realize the store's clearly closed, right?" i say, crossing my arms. my spin tingles, and i jump, dodging the bullets that were being shot at me. i web to a guy, kicking him into the face, making him fall back harshly. i kick my body off him, standing back up. i jump, webbing a web on each hand to the floor beside a man, pulling myself forward and kicking him in chest.

after tying all the robbers up, i call the cops. "probably should get out of here before they arrive," i mumble to myself, jumping then attaching a string to a streetlamp. swinging around some more, something catches my eye. i take a look at a quiet alleyway, dropping down. i land quietly and softly, observing the situation. "please, just go away!" a young woman yells. i squint my eyes, making my lens zoom in. she was blonde, clutching her purse to her chest as 3 men walk closer to her, trapping her in the corner of a building and a trash bin. "no time for jokes," i say, running across the road to them.

i shoot a web to one's face, holding the other side of the web before pulling down harshly, making him plunge into the ground. i run up to the other one, kicking his chin up, making him launch into the air. i spin around, kicking him again just before he lands. "are you good?" i ask the girl as she nods, out of breath. "watch out!" my spin tingles again, and i jump, but i was too late.

a knife cuts through my stomach, and i land behind the man who held the knife, which was now bloody. adrenaline rushes through my body, and i shoot a web to his face, which he tries to get off, dropping the knife in the process. i pull him towards me, bringing my knee up. he hits it harshly, falling to the ground and getting knocked out. "ah... bitch," i mumble, holding my waist. i take my hand off, looking at it. my hand was now bloody, but i place it back. "are you okay?" we both say at the same time. i smile under my mask, nodding. "i'm fine, you?" i ask. "yeah, i'm okay. thank you so much." after offering to walk the girl back home, she convinces me she'll be fine as her house was just around the block. i shoot a web to a building, and start to swing back home as i hold my waist with my other hand.

the vertical bar on side of my lens flashes, and i look at it, realizing i only had 2 percent left in my web cartridge. i wince sharply, my stomach aching from the cut. 1 percent. i quickly zip to the nearest apartment balcony, my leg clipping the railing, causing me to fall onto the balcony. i groan, gripping my waist.

i turn over, laying on my back. i stay there for a few seconds, pushing myself up with my other hand. i look to my right, looking inside the balcony as someone starts to walk towards me. i stand up, slightly hunched from my waist. the girl opens the sliding door, stepping out.
