olivia and i laugh after she puts the jacket on maya. "she's too cute," i smile, standing up. "where's her leash? i'll put it on the harness now," i say. "it should be in her drawer, isn't it?" liv says. i look in the drawer, not seeing it, "nope, it's not there." "huh... weird," liv says, looking around too. "it's cool, we don't need it," i say. "what do you mean? she'll run off," olivia says. "i'll just... i don't know, use these," i smile, pointing to the web shooter on my hand. "will that even work?" liv asks, laughing. "we'll see now," i say, crouching down to maya.

i shoot a web at the harness hook, pulling it out to a reasonable length. i cut it off, wrapping it around my wrist a few times and holding it. i walk around, maya following me. "works like a charm!" i exclaim. "that's genius," liv laughs.

i close the front door, hearing it lock. "okay," i say, walking down the steps and following olivia as i hold the web leash. olivia and i walk beside each other, feeling her hand hold mine. "how was dinner yesterday? i forgot to ask," i say. "it was good, it wasn't like a very strict dinner, thankfully they were around our age, it just felt like hanging out and talking about business, to be honest," liv says. "that's great," i say. "and i've also got an interview tomorrow which is great," she mumbles. "where's the enthusiasm? you haven't done an interview since last year!" i say, both of us turn left. "interviews are draining, especially if they're by myself," she answers. "that's why i don't accept interviews," i say. "we get it," liv laughs. "maybe you should just decline all of them," i suggest. "management," olivia reminds me. "hm, can't relate." olivia smacks my arm, laughing.

we sit down at the restaurant, maya sitting beside liv's feet. "you know where we haven't been in a while?" i say. "where?" liv asks. "wilshire," i answer. "oh yeah! we should go when we're not busy," she says. "are you busy tonight?" "i don't think i am," liv smiles.

i pick up a piece of salmon off my sushi, leaning over to maya. i smile, dangling it down as she bites the end of the salmon, pulling it towards her.

after eating, we decide to get maya more toys. i stand up, liv following. i bend down in front of maya, shooting another web to her and pulling the web out, cutting it off. "what was that for?" liv asks. "the web dissolves an hour after i webbed it," i say, "so the old one would've dissolved soon." she nods, and i pay, holding the web and walking out.

we walk into the pet shop, walking to the dog aisle. maya starts to sniff all the toys, and i jog slightly at the pace she was running. eventually, she picks out a donut toy with a squeaker in it. i get a few more toys, getting treats too. "we're all stocked up on food, right?" i ask liv. "yeah, we're still good," she confirms. i smile at her, and we start to walk to the counter.

i place all the toys and treats on the counter, handing the web to liv. "oh shit, spider-woman," the middle-aged worker says with a nervous chuckle. "hi, how are you?" i ask, watching her scan everything. "i'm doing well, how have you been?" she asks. "i'm doing great too," i respond. she places the things in a bag, "that'll be $40," she says with a smile. i smile back and i take out my phone.

i double tap the power button, using the face id to scan my face. i then hover it above the card machine, feeling my phone lightly vibrate, signalling the payment was complete. she hands me the bag. "thank you, have a good day," i say, taking the bag. "you too," she says. i turn around, and liv, maya and i walk out.

i open the front door, closing it once liv and maya were in. i bend down, pulling the web off maya's jumper, and she runs off. liv shakes off the web, and it glides to the floor.

i place the bag on the kitchen counter, taking everything out. i open the treat bag, taking one out. "maya!" i call out. seconds later, she comes walking to me. i break the treat in half, looking down at maya. "sit," i say, making maya sit. i smile, bending down and giving the treat to her. she eats it, looking at me again. i place a piece on the floor, seeing olivia watching. maya's body shifts towards the treat. "leave it..." i say, watching as she looks at me. i wait 5 seconds, smiling, "go!" she gets up, rushing to the treat to eat it.

i stand back up, walking to the sink to wash my hands. "dog whisperer, huh?" liv smiles, walking over to me. "''tis i," i respond, turning off the faucet. liv laughs, and i bring my hands in front of her, splashing water on her. she scrunches her face, looking away, "thanks for that." "you're welcome. want another?" i ask, smiling. she turns to face me, holding my wrists gently as she pulls my hands down, "it's okay, i think once is enough." she pulls my hands to her waist, and i keep my hands there as she lets go, wrapping her arms around my neck. she starts to sway to the silence, smiling. i chuckle, swaying in time. i clear my throat, "i wore makeup when we dated-" olivia laughs, dropping her arm from my neck and using her other hand to bring it to my cheek, softly pushing my face to the side.

i laugh too, "what? it was too quiet!" "you're making fun of my music!" liv continues to laugh. "i'm not! i'm just singing a song that came to mind," i shrug, taking out my phone. i go to bluetooth, connecting my phone to the house speakers for the kitchen/living room area.

i go to spotify, searching up a song and turning off my phone as it starts to play. "second chance?" i ask, giving a hopeful smile at olivia. she smiles, walking towards me. i wrap my arms around her waist, her arms around around my neck.

we start to sway to the music. "we could leave the christmas lights up 'till january," liv and i sing, smiling.

"and you'll save all your dirtiest jokes for me," liv sings softly over taylor swift. "and at every table... i'll save you a seat," i finish the line, olivia chuckling and resting her head on my shoulder as we continue to dance for the rest of the song.
