i press the spider logo in the middle of my chest, tightening my suit as i look in the mirror. i can't help but think olivia only wanted to hang out with me because of spider-woman, not y/n. was it for the publicity? did she even like talking to me? i pull off my mask, looking down at it before looking at myself in the mirror. if olivia saw me in the streets as y/n, she wouldn't be interested.
shaking my head, i pick up my coat, putting it on me.

i pull my mask back on, going to my balcony and jumping off it after rolling up my sleeves to show my web shooters. THWIP! i swing around the city, seeing i had another 5 minutes on my hud before the time hit 8 o'clock. i walk into a coffee chop, getting a coffee.
i land on olivia's balcony after finishing my balcony, seeing her on the couch. i drop down from the railing, knocking on the window pane. she turns her upper body around, smiling at me before standing up and jogging towards me. she opens the balcony door, stepping out. olivia wore a dark brown shirt that said 'god's favorite' in light purple, and a different shade of brown, loose jeans, wearing converses.

"hey!" we both say at the same time. chuckling in unison, we both look down. "nice jacket," she says, moving closer to me, "but i thought you said you had a heater in your suit." "oh, this is just for the fashion," i say, putting my hands in the pockets, making olivia laugh. "so... what should we do?" i ask. "i was hoping we could sit on my apartment building's rooftop and just talk. nothing fancy, just get to know each other," she says. "yeah, that sounds amazing," i respond. "come in, we'll take the elevator," she says, starting to walk away. "seriously?" i laugh, shaking my head. she turns back around, smiling. "what?" she responds. "you're asking spider-woman to go a few levels up by an elevator with you?" "oh! i'll meet you up there!" i laugh again, making olivia give me a confused face. "i'll take you up there, it'll be ten times faster." olivia shakes her head, smiling.
i swing my arms inside my coat. "that seems really dangerous," she says. "it's not! you just gotta trust me, i haven't dropped anyone 20 stories high. if you don't like it, i'll bring you down, and we can take the elevator together." olivia sighs, thinking. "okay, lets do it."
i stand back up on the railing, lending a hand out. "seriously?!" she says, open mouthed, "you couldn't just carry me down here and then jumped up?!" i laugh, walking back and forwards on the railing. "come on, yolo, right?" "yeah, i won't live very long if i plummet to my death in a few seconds." "that won't happen, i'll catch you!" after a few minutes of convincing olivia, she takes my hand, and i pull her up. gripping onto my hand tightly, she had her legs slightly bent, looking out onto the roads from her 21st level apartment. "don't look down," i say, holding her other hand, walking towards her. she stares into my lens, and i wrap an arm around her waist. olivia lets go of one of my hands, wrapping it around my neck as she leans closer to me, my suit now pressed against her body.
wrapping the other arm around my body, she takes a shaky breath. "okay, jump, i got you," i instruct. she jumps, wrapping her legs around my waist. "how is this real... what the fuck..." she says, digging her head into my neck. i laugh, wrapping my other arm around her waist. it might've been from the super-strength, being able to lift more than ten tons, but olivia was pretty light.
i walk to the end of the balcony, slowing down. "okay, i'm gonna start climbing now," i tell olivia. "okay..." she whispers. i step onto the side of the building, my foot sticking to it. i then bring my other foot on the building, both of us now being vertically up, olivia clinging onto me. "you okay?" i ask, slowly walking up. "yeah, yeah, i'm good," she says, wrapping her arms around me tighter if it was even possible. it was a little suffocating, but i didn't wanna mention it if olivia felt somewhat safe.
i walk a little faster, finally making it up the building. i stand onto the top, away from the edge. olivia's legs fall down, standing herself up before unwrapping her arms. "that was terrifying," she says, catching her breath. "you did great!" i exclaim, putting my hand up for a high-five. she laughs, high-fiving me. the sound wasn't as satisfying as i had my suit on, but it was better than her leaving me hanging.
olivia sits next to me on the edge of the building, and we stare into the city. "quite the view, right?" " we should go to wilshire grand center one day and sit up there, it's truly beautiful," i say. olivia softly laughs. "maybe one day," she says, giving me a slight chance of hope.

spider-woman slides closer to me mid conversation, showing me her whole suit. i enjoyed listening to spider-woman as she talked about herself and her suit, she seems so passionate about it- i'm grateful it was her and not anyone that she got bit by a spider, she really deserves this superpower. "so how far does your web go?" i ask. she puts her hand out, over the building and shoots a web. the web kept coming out- going on for about 5 seconds at a fast speed before ending. "that's really far!" i exclaim, laughing. "it's really useful," she says, looking at me. "why can't i hear what you sound like? i don't know how to explain it, you sound so clear, yet muffled in a way," i explain as best as i can. "it's my mask," she says, pointing to her mask, "it's supposed to do that, make it unrecognizable," she answers, nodding.
we could talk all night since we had such different lives. i'll admit it, i felt safe as she walked up here. it was probably because of the way she securely wrapped her spare hand around my waist and didn't complain that i was definitely holding onto her too tight. dangling 20 stories high and only going higher would've been a lot scarier if it was someone else. i didn't even mind not knowing what she looked like, it was like we've been friends for years.
"pancakes or waffles?" spider-woman asks. "pancakes. blueberry pancakes, specifically," i answer. "least favorite thing to eat?" she asks another question. "my least favorite thing to eat i guess is like... vegetables?" i say, letting out a soft laugh. "i'll take you on a date and strictly order vegetables for us," she says, laughing. "i'll get up and leave," i joke, smiling. "favorite thing to eat?" she asks. "chocolate cake, like a good birthday chocolate cake - specifically the chocolate cake from like a box that you get at a store, so good... or um... chewy candy." she laughs, and i look at her, smiling. "that's so specific, i love it... if you could have a superpower, what would it be?" ironic. "i would be able to walk through a library and run my finger along all the spines of the books in the library and then retain all the information that's in the books. i've been thinking about this for forever. either that, or i would love to record my dreams on a vhs tape and them play them back later, i feel like that'd be sick." "that's a really creative answer!"
we sit and talk about food for around 10 minutes, having a lot in common. "wanna get something to eat? this conversation is making me hungry," spider-woman says. "churros?" i suggest, smiling. "i love churros! see that red and grey apartment building?" she asks, pointing at the red and grey apartment building in the distance as her lens goes smaller. "yeah, i see it," i say. "just behind there has the best churros," she says, looking back at me. "then lets go!"
