One Month Later

"Come in!" Mercedes announced as she heard some knocks on her door.

"Hey mama!" Pam and Rebecca greeted their friend before hugging her.

Mercedes was a little over forty weeks pregnant with her first baby girl, whom she decided to name Chloe Lillian Good. She asked Pam and Rebecca to come over since Jon left the previous day and she would be getting induced later that evening. It was January Twenty-Fifth, so there was a good chance Mercedes would share a birthday with her baby girl. She was excited, emotional, and nervous but just wanted to meet her sweet girl.

"Thank you guys so much for being here for me. You're the best." She smiled, hugging the two before the three girls sat down to help pack before they'd take her to be induced later on.

"Of course dude, that's what best friends are for." Pam smiled at her friend as Rebecca agreed.

"Is Jon going to be here for her birth?" Rebecca asked while sitting with the two girls.

"I have no idea. If he is he is, if he's not then it's his loss. I have to be strong for my girl." Mercedes admitted as Pam and Rebecca were understanding.

The three girls made sure Mercedes had everything packed and ready to go. Once they knew she was good, the three headed out to her car and began the drive to the hospital. Mercedes had to be there at a certain time due to her being induced.

After the fifteen minute drive, the three arrived at the hospital. Mercedes got herself checked in and admitted. Shortly after, she got settled in a room as Pam and Rebecca were staying with her for moral support. Once she was settled, the nurses began taking her vitals and checking on her. She was only two centimeters dilated so far, so this would be a bit of a process to bring Chloe Lillian into the world.

"Thank you guys for staying with me." Mercedes smiled after an hour had passed. She wanted to get some rest, but her anxiety was a little high at the moment so she was just trying to relax and her two best friends were doing good keeping her calm.

"Of course, that's what friends are for." Pam smiled as Rebecca agreed. Mercedes tried nodding off to sleep, but was caught off guard when someone came into her room.

"Jon?" Mercedes questioned, shocked to see her estranged lover in the same room as her.

"You're in labor so I'm here." He responded before sitting down. The three girls looked confused before shrugging and Mercedes just wanted to get some sleep.

"Fuck!" Mercedes cried four hours later. It was a little after 3am on her birthday, January Twenty Sixth. She's been in labor now for five hours and was definitely feeling the pain and discomfort from it.

"You're doing great babes." Rebecca sympathetically smiled at her friend as Mercedes was squeezing hers and Pam's hands. Jon was asleep on the couch, which frustrated everyone even more.

"Yeah dude, you're doing awesome." Pam smiled after laying an ice cold washcloth on her best friend's head.

"I just want her out, this hurts worse than some bumps." She winced. She was only four centimeters dilated, so she still had a little ways to go.

"You're a strong woman sister, you can do this! It'll all be worth it to meet Chloe here soon." Rebecca beamed as she handed Mercedes some ice chips to chew on.

Four hours had passed and Mercedes had been in labor for nine hours. She was only six centimeters dilated. Slowly yet surely she was making her way to finally give birth. It was just her and Jon in the room since Pam and Rebecca went down to grab some coffee and breakfast. Mercedes felt awkward but was trying not to focus on the tension in the room.

"Can you turn the lights off?" Mercedes asked as Jon was sitting down on his phone. He rolled his eyes before getting up and turning off the lights.

"Happy?" He retorted and sat back down.

"Jon I really don't want to deal with this. If you're gonna be like this leave." She responded, rubbing her tired eyes.

"Mercedes, just be glad I'm here." He spat as she just closed her eyes, trying to push through the pain. Just a few moments later, Pam and Rebecca came back in the room with coffee for themselves and more ice for Mercedes to chew on during the labor.

Six hours later, Mercedes had been in labor for fifteen hours. It was a little after one in the afternoon on her birthday. She was finally ten centimeters dilated and fully effaced. Mercedes was ready to give birth to baby Chloe Lillian. She was excited, emotional, as well as nervous to give birth. However, she wanted to meet her baby girl so bad.

"Ready?" Pam smiled as she and Rebecca were still in the room with Mercedes and Jon. He was extremely quiet and just standing by her head as the two girls were encouraging Mercedes.

"Definitely, I want this baby out of me." She tiredly groaned. The nurses and doctors finished prepping her for the birthing experience. Shortly after, Mercedes began pushing to get baby Chloe out.

"Good job! You're doing great!" Rebecca beamed as Mercedes had been pushing for a few minutes. She and Pam were doing their best to encourage Mercedes and Jon was just standing there, not saying a word. She tried pushing that out of her head to focus on bringing her baby girl into the world.

"Keep going! Her head's almost out!" One of the nurses smiled as Mercedes had been doing great and pushing for a little over a half hour.

Just a few short minutes later, the loud cries of baby Chloe Lillian filled the room. Mercedes bursted into tears seeing her baby girl for the first time. Pam and Rebecca were emotional as well as they met their niece and were so proud of Mercedes.

"She's here! My baby girl!" Mercedes cried as baby Chloe was laid on her chest.

"She looks like me." Jon let out a small chuckle as they saw baby Chloe for the first time. She was definitely Jon's mini. She had his peachy skin tone, dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, but had her mama's facial structure. She was a stunning baby.

"Yeah, she does." Mercedes quietly smiled.

"My little love bug, sweet girl." She whispered while softly kissing Chloe's head. Mercedes had no idea what the next chapter would entail, but no matter what she would be the best mom she could to baby Chloe.
