"Hey dad." Mackenzie said two weeks later as she walked through the front door, seeing Joe in the kitchen making dinner while Mercedes was out at sporting events with their three younger children.

"Hey sweetheart, you okay?" Joe asked as he could see his daughter looking a bit hurt and sorrow filled.

"Not really, can I talk to you?" She asked while setting her bag down and going towards her dad.

"This is about Dante, isn't it?" He raised an eyebrow as she nodded her head. Joe hasn't been too much of a fan of his daughter's boyfriend lately. But he couldn't stop his daughter from dating boys and doing things that teenagers were going to do.

"Alright, what's going on?" He asked again after seeing her nod his head.

"So I went to his house and he told me we should take a break for a little while. I guess he's just not feeling it anymore, but said that after the break maybe we could get back together if it works out." She shrugged as Joe now knew why she was upset. It was practically her first heartbreak and she was having a normal reaction to it.

"Mackenzie, don't let him berate you or make you wait for him. He has been acting weird lately, so you do what you want to do. You're seventeen, honey. Guys will come and go, I know you haven't done anything like that, but just be careful with who you trust your heart with." He explained as Mackenzie knew what he was meaning within a relationship, sexually or not. Mackenzie didn't let Dante do anything like that since she wasn't ready and was afraid of going through what Mercedes went through with Jon.

"I know, still just sucks. And I'm not super confident we will get back together. I don't wanna get my hopes up but also I don't like the feeling of being heartbroken." She sighed as Joe walked over and hugged his daughter.

"You will grow from this, baby girl. Just do you. Enjoy summer and dance and everything that'll come between it. We're here for you and I love you baby." Joe assured her during their hug.

"Thanks dad, you're the best and I love you too!" She grinned as the two let go of their hug and switched topics. Mackenzie felt better talking to her dad and getting some assurance from him.

"Chloe, I am so proud of you baby! You did it!" Mercedes grinned two weeks later.

Chloe just graduated from esthetician school. She was extremely proud of herself as was her family. Even being a teen mom before she graduated high school, she still graduated and now was a licensed esthetician. She and Soren were also planning their wedding. Everything was working out for the best.

"Thank you mom! I couldn't have done it without your love and support. I have a pretty great support system and now I get to work my dream job!" She cheered before taking Savannah and hugging Joe.

"We knew you could do it, honey. We can't wait to see where this takes you. If anyone can do it, it's you." He smiled as they celebrated their eldest daughter achieving one of her top goals.
