Everywhere on Peter's body hurt he felt like he'd been run over by a train. Which he had before and this was a very good comparison. Peter groaned he sat up his world was spinning he put a hand on his head once he felt something running down his forehead. Peter didn't feel the familiar fabric of his mask he ignored it to concerned about was going on currently. Peter pulled his gloved hand back blood coated it almost blending in with the red fabric.
Peter couldn't imagine the agony Deadpool was in at the moment. The man had been on his back getting a ride to the next building since he couldn't quite jump that far without falling and breaking a few bones. While Peter wasn't overly fond of the mercenary he didn't want him to be in pain just cause he refused to cooperate with him.
Deadpool has grabbed Peter last second while he was still shocked from the explosion blinding him and overwhelming all his senses. Deadpool had grabbed him tucking him into his body so that he absorbed most of the impact. Peter blinked his vision cleared a little know he could finally see all the scratches and tears in his costume.
Peter cussed under his breath the material he used to make his suit was expensive. That or he had to spend hours fixing it everytime it happened. Peter got up on shaky legs he surveyed the area. Debris was everywhere around them things that had once been high standing building were still standing but pieces of them laid twisted or broken everywhere.
Peter heard a groan from beside him panicked he looked down to where Deadpool was. The mercenary was sitting up now his mask was also mostly gone but the tattered remains still clung to his face. "Stop staring at me Webs or I'll think you're attracted to this sexy messed up mug." Deadpool joked he was stopped by a coughing fit.
"Are you okay?" Peter asked he kneeled beside the man ignoring the rubble digging into his knee uncomfortably.
"I'll be okay Spidey don't worry you're pretty little head. My ol' superior healing factor will have me fixed up in a jiff. You're the one we need to worry about." Deadpool said this time his words weren't interrupted he grinned at Peter is faltered once he looked down at his leg which resembled more of a torn up mess than a leg.
"Wow that's gonna hurt." Deadpool said he chuckled at Peter's horrified expression. "It'll be fine. I'll be fine." Deadpool tried to assure him waving his hand like the injury was nothing. Peter wanted to protest saying his injury was something that even if he had a incredible healing factor his pain still mattered.
Deadpool held up a hand to keep Peter from talking even before he opened his mouth. It seemed Deadpool always had a way of knowing what he was thinking before he did sometimes. Peter wondered if he had mind reading powers he doubted it but his uncanny abilities to read Peter almost made him believe it sometimes.
"No I can't read minds Webs. I'm great but not that great. You can call me Wade by the way since you already know my name." Deadpool said by now he was on his feet although limping and missing the lower half of his leg the man was somehow still smiling which both relieved and scared Peter.
"I'll help you." Peter said to Deadpool no Wade he reminded himself he put the mercs arm around his shoulders Wade was heavier than he was they both had to work hard and Peter almost dropped Wade at one point. Especially, due to him being injured and his healing factor was slower than the mercenary's Peter wasn't at full strength either.
Peter eventually managed to get Wade in a isolated alleyway behind a dumpster where no one would see either of them. Peter collapsed right by Wade he leaned his head back against the brick wall he ignored the dirty street water soaking into his clothes.
"You have the most beautiful brown eyes I've ever seen." Wade said he brought his hand up to Peter's face and ran his fingers over the smooth skin of his face. Peter closed his eyes he leaned into the touch at this point he was still scared and processing what happened so the comforting touch was welcome right now.
"Whatever Wade." Peter mumbled he felt sleepy his lack of sleep and the injuries must have been getting to him he thought to himself that was the only explanation he had as to why he leaned against Wade's shoulder his eyes closing instantly.
Peter stirred a few hours later he blinked taking in his surroundings. Instead of being passed out in a alleyway with Wade he was on a soft bed. Instead of the torn suit he'd been wearing he was wearing a t-shirt and sweat pants that were way to big for they were rolled up so he wouldn't trip over them if he walked.
Peter panicked he stood up fast he looked at his wrists his webshooters were also removed. Peter clenched his hand into a fist he heard footsteps coming his way. His spider sense or what MJ called his Peter tingle was going wild making it hard to think of anything.
Peter jumped around the corner fist raised to knock out whoever had brought him here. "Woah woah Webs calm down! I only came to give you back your stuff since I heard you wake up!" Wade said he grabbed Peter's hand putting it back down by his side then he held up his hands in a placating gesture to the hero.
"Thanks." Peter said he took his tattered suit and webshooters from Wade. "Wait does that mean you-" Peter cut himself off he felt a blush rise to his cheeks as he remembered he wasn't in his own clothes and he'd been asleep.
"I didn't look scout's honor." Wade said raising his right hand. Peter rolled his eyes but he couldn't help the small smile that came onto his face from the mercs weird antics. "Even though it was tempting." Wade said he stretched the back of his neck giving Peter a sheepish smile. Peter's eyes widened when Peter ran towards him.
"Not funny Wade not funny!" Peter said he punched the merc lightly in the shoulder.
Wade let out a breath he'd been holding he thought was gonna get punched in the face for that comment."You should probably get home it's late." Wade said looking at the clock on the wall which read 12:30 am. Peter's eyes widened he still had a paper to write!
"Thanks for uh everything. Did you see any casualties from the blast?" Peter asked worriedly.
"Nope took care of that knowing your dumb caring ass was going to be mad if I didn't." Wade said he waved at Peter. The eyes of his mask he must have gotten a new one Peter thought curled upward signaling he was smiling at Peter.
Peter waved he was secretly glad the mercenary had chosen to look around for anyone who could possibly be hurt or injured. Peter didn't know if he could forgive himself if he had just passed out and left someone who was in trouble. Peter didn't know if he could trust that Wade hadn't seen anything but he had more things to worry about at the moment so his attention was averted to the paper he still had to write and only had till 7:00 am to write for Curt Connors class.
