Chapter 13 Gone

Peter let out a content sigh instead of waking up in his single bed by himself cold he was cuddled up to Wade's side sleeping beside him in his bed. Peter had chosen to stay over last night not wanting to be alone after he figured out Harry was the Green Goblin. Peter was still processing and he almost cried a few times. Wade was keeping him grounded and from spiraling which he was desperately thankful for.

Peter let himself drift off again he almost was asleep when Wade's alarm on his phone buzzed ruining it. "Damn it Wade." Peter grumbled he sat up rubbing sleep from his eyes. Wade let out a groan he blinked his eyes as he woke up.

"Sorry to ruin the moment, baby boy but I always get up at 7:00 every morning." Wade apologized he smiled at Peter he looked adorable with his hair a mess from sleeping. Wade was glad Peter had chosen to stay at his house even if it was due to him wanting comfort. He only wished the first time had been under better circumstances.

"I'm gonna call Tony and May you know they'll get worried if I don't. Not that Tony will admit it." Peter said he cringed when he heard his voice it was messed up from when he had been sleeping. He walked out of the room after he grabbed his phone off of Wade's side table beside his bed.

"Yeah, I'm alright I stayed at Wade's last night. No my bandages are good Wade changed them." Peter said he blushed when he'd said the last part. Wade had helped him since Peter was still sore. Peter had looked away to embarrassed to watch him as he worked. Wade had made it more bearable by cracking jokes.

May had been estatic he finally had someone Tony less so. He chewed Peter out for five minutes straight telling him he shouldn't stay with a murder then proceeded for another seven about how he didn't like that Wade was bandaging him up since that would require him seeing Peter shirtless before Steve had dragged him away with a apology.

"Well he's got a few choice words that start with f, s, or d." Wade said chuckling he walked up behind Peter putting his arms around his waist and resting his head on top of Peter's.

"Yeah, no kidding Steve has been trying to get him to stop cussing for months now. It never works when he's aggravated." Peter said he smiled when he thought of Steve. The man was also sort of a parental figure to Peter. Less than Tony but he was nice to Peter so he liked him. He was also really cool.

"Yeah, Captain America's ass is real nice." Wade said he knew instantly that Peter pulled away from him to glare at him which he did. "Sorry just speaking facts baby boy. But obviously not as much as yours. Man this author had to come up with a convenient way to move the story along with a fourth wall breaking joke again? Well blame all this on him." Wade said confusing Peter he choose to ignore it counting it up as Wade's usual rambling.

Peter stood outside of Oscorp with Wade. He was shaking lightly he didn't want to do this. Harry had escaped from the battle last time Peter stopping Wade from killing him by taking the blow instead. Peter breathed in threw his nose and out his mouth Wade had to keep reminding him to breath.

"I don't want to confront him. But I can't go to the police since I don't have proof then they'd ask how I know Harry is the Goblin and we both know I can't just say I'm Spiderman." Peter said Wade squeezed his hand reassuringly.

"No matter what you do baby boy I'm here." Wade said he planted a kiss on the top of Peter's head.

"I still can't believe my best friend is the Green Goblin. I mean his dad was but still why Harry why?" Peter asked himself he felt tears sting the corners of his eyes threatening to fall. Peter shook his head he had to be in control of his emotions for this especially if he was going to confront Harry.

Peter was still on the list of pre-approved visitors. Wade wasn't but after a few minutes of arguing that Wade was coming with him to see Harry she relented. Peter tapped his foot impatiently in the elevator as the annoying music played Wade humming along to entertain yourself. Peter wasn't going to lie as soon as he stepped out of the elevator to the top floor of Oscorp the only thing that kept him grounded was his iron grip on Wade's arm.

"Harry we need to talk." Peter growled as he stormed up to Harry. The man's chair was turned around so Peter turned it towards himself. Peter's eyes went wide when he saw not Harry but a activated pumpkin bomb about to go off.

"Peter!" Wade yelled he grabbed the bomb throwing it out the window as hard as he could. Peter stood there shocked their was also a note on the desk it read "Nice try trying to catch me hero. You'll have to do faster then that you murder." Peter laughed the irony of the note would be hilarious if he wasn't about to break down.

Wade pulled him into his chest he carried him out the building stopping to glare at the receptionist that called Peter his deadname and that Mr.Osborn will supposedly be back from his lunch break later. Wade carried Peter to the car he buckled him in and started driving back to his apartment.

"Are you alright?" Wade asked concerned he put one of his hands on Peter's arm trying to ground him. Peter shook his head he was crying now. Wade pulled over at the side of the road he picked Peter up easily and pulled him over the center console into his lap. "It's going to be okay baby." Wade said he let Peter hide his face in the crook of his shoulder as he rocked him back and forth trying to comfort him that's when the message came.
