Chapter 11 Recovering

Peter had heard a crash behind him before he'd passed out. He guessed that Wade had some how got Harry off his glider to keep him from getting away. Peter heard voices near him he opened his eyes even if they felt heavy. Peter blinked bright lights overwhelmed his senses and he could smell  disinfectant.

"It's okay Petey Pie I'm here." Wade said he squeezed Peter's hand reassuringly. Peter smiled lightly his eyes finally adjusted so he now could see the man above him clearly. Wade had a happy but worried expression on his face. Peter reached up to touch his face he held Wade's jaw the man leaned into the touch.

"You had me worried. I can't believe I stabbed you." Wade said he looked guilty he'd been trying to stab Harry. Peter had jumped in the way taking the hit instead. Realizing that he was in a hospital finally set in. Peter looked down panicking not knowing if he was still wearing his famous red and blue costume.

"Don't worry Pete I made sure to remove the sword and take of your Spidey outfit." Wade said he winced when he looked at the bandage that was surely under Peter's shirt where he stabbed him.

"Thank God. But Wade you tried to kill Harry I couldn't let that happen." Peter said he glared at Wade. The mercenary dropped his hand he turned around not able to see Peter's disapproving glare. Wade twiddled his thumbs looking for the right response.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have done that you got hurt." Wade said he turned back around he kneeled beside Peter's bed. "Please forgive me? I've been trying to be better for you. I'm just used to using murder as a means to take care of people and it's hard to unlearn." Wade said he looked like a kicked puppy.

Peter sighed he knew Wade tried he had wanted to protect Peter even if he hadn't done it in the right way. "Alright, I forgive you big guy get up before someone sees you." Peter said he patted Wade on the back affectionately.

"I love you." Wade said he kissed Peter on the head. Peter's eyes widened at the words Wade was about to pull away thinking his reaction was bad when Peter caught his wrist to keep him from leaving.

"I love you to Wade Wilson." Peter said he kissed Wade's knuckles. Wade grinned goofily he jumped when the door was opened interrupting their moment. A doctor walked in accompanied by a older lady who was panicking as she ran to Peter's bedside almost running over Wade.

Wade walked a few steps back he sat in the chair beside Peter's bed. "Peter are you okay?" May said she looked panic she grabbed Peter's face she looked it over. Peter tried not to complain as his aunt fussed over him for the next several minutes embarrassing him in front of Wade.

"Aunt May." Peter whined he looked behind him at Wade. Wade was smiling he winked at Peter making him grumble. "Traitor " Peter mouthed at him he tried to appear angry a smile betrayed him. Peter laughed when Wade made a funny face at him.

Aunt May looked behind her to see who Peter was interacting with. In her haste to see if her nephew was okay she hadn't noticed Wade. Wade waved shyly a far cry from his usual personality. Wade was nervous May was the aunt of his boyfriend he wanted to impress her.

"Hi I'm Wade." Wade said holding out his hand for the woman to shake. Wade thought she'd turn away like most people instead she grabbed his hand and shook it with a smile on her face. "You're Wade, huh? Peter talks about you a lot." May said Peter felt his cheeks darken in embarrassment.

  "Oh, he does now does he?" Wade asked raising a eyebrow at Peter grinning. Peter groaned he covered his face with his hands. Those two were getting along well it was going to be the death of Peter.

"Yeah yeah shut it. Aunt May this is my boyfriend Wade Wilson." Peter said he put his hands down he motioned towards Wade with his hands. Wade grinned he looked like the one of the happiest  guys in the world at the moment.

"Yup that's my man." Wade said he winked at Peter.

"Well welcome to the family Wade." May said she smiled genuinely at him.

"Thank you ma'am." Wade said he was very happy that he was accepted by Peter's aunt. He's heard good things about her from Peter and he was happy to finally meet her in person.

The door opened quickly slamming into the wall before anyone could stop it. Peter jumped and Wade tensed up lowering his hand to the hidden knife strapped to his leg. The hospital had made him leave all his weapons outside and his suit.. Even then Wade thought he could truly come anywhere fully unarmed. His nerves would get the best of him if he didn't carry something.

"Wade it's okay." Peter said trying to soothe the mercenary. Wade looked at him wearily but he dropped his hand back down to his side. Peter had a big smile on his face as soon as he saw who had entered the room. It dropped whenever he saw the man's glare he shifted uncomfortably looking away he felt like he was being examined right now.

"So, Underoos why haven't you been answering my calls? And why in the name of everything that is holy are you in a hospital bed?" Tony asked he sat down in a chair beside Wade he gave the mercenary a guarded look signaling he didn't trust Wade.

"I can explain everything." Peter said he glanced nervously at aunt May signaling he didn't want to talk about this in front of her.

"Oh, I'll leave you boys alone. Wade come." May said she motioned towards the mercenary to join her. Wade got up he gave Peter a wave as he exited the door but his mouth was in a thin line signaling he wasn't to pleased with Tony's arrival.

The door shut behind him once they were both gone Tony arched a eyebrow at Peter. "Okay now I want you to explain why Wade fucking Wilson is here on top of everything else." Tony said he leaned back in his chair crossing his arms over his chest like a disapproving parent. Peter sighed it was going to be a long day.
