Peter had been disappointed almost when he had to separate from Wade to go back to his crappy run down apartment. Peter missed the man's jokes, the free food, his warmth and most of all he just missed Wade. The two had been patrolling together for more than two months now.

Peter had investigated the area where the bomb had gone off. Peter knew instantly who was responsible for the attack. It had to be the Green Goblin. The villain had been terrorizing the city for the last year using bombs was one of his specialities. Peter could have swore that Norman Osborn was dead.

Peter had accidentally killed the man one day soon after he'd graduated. Norman had tried to kill him with a blade on his glider. Peter had jumped out of the way making Norman's own glider stab him to death. Unless it was someone posing as Norman it was the only explanation Peter could think of.

Peter had seen Norman Osborn the dad of his best friend Harry die. Peter had seen him bleed the life drain from his eyes as he died  stuck to that wall. Peter had been there for his funeral comforting Harry while he swore to get vengeance on his dad's killer

It had felt wrong to take the blame for Norman basically killing himself. It felt wrong to watch as Harry believed his dad a good man until the end despite everything he's done as the Green Goblin and to Harry. That had been the first time Peter had watched a villain die. The second time some one had died due to him not being able to stop them.

Peter shook his head now was not the time to be reminiscing on all his past failures. No matter how many times he was told by Aunt May it wasn't his fault for Ben's death he couldn't help but think it was over three years later. Peter may have been sixteen and naive he guessed he'd always carry that guilt with him to his grave.

Peter sighed he wasn't finding anything useful at all. He had come back to the bombing location several times in the past few weeks hoping to find some sort of clue. Nothing absolutely nothing came up. The crater that had been made in the road and the destroyed building had even been cleared.

Wade didn't question why they were there anytime Peter brought him along. Peter was thankful for that this was personal due to the last Green Goblin turning out to be Harry's dad. Peter knew that this was some how connected to Oscorp it had to be. He just didn't know how which is what he needed to know.

"I'm still not finding anything." Peter said angrily he sat down next to Wade on the rooftop they'd agreed to meet up on.

"Why are you so obsessed with one bombing incident anyways?" Wade asked curiously between bites of his taco. Peter rolled his eyes not really that annoyed more out of habit than anything. Peter had grown quite fond of the mercenary even if it was a hassle sometimes to keep him from un aliving people as he called it.

"Why are you so obsessed with Weapon X?" Peter asked the merc instantly shut up. "That's what I thought." Peter said amused he rolled his mask up to his nose he took the stunned mercs taco stuffing the last bite of it in his mouth. Wade just stared at him blinking a few times before he shook his head.

"You're truly evil Spidey. First you make me fall in love with you then you steal my taco! You wound me you evil creature." Wade said dramatically flailing his arms around almost hitting Peter in the head. Peter grabbed one of Wade's hands he sat it down by the mercs side he didn't let it go deciding he didn't want it to hit in the face.

"I'm a hero Wade I'm absolutely evil. I'm going to take over all the taco shops in New York city with all my dirty capitalist money just so you can't ever buy a taco again." Peter joked he was glad he had someone to joke with. Peter was also glad for the distraction from not being able to find any clues on the bombing.

"We all know you ain't got any capitalist money babe. Like serious you poor no offence. But daddy pool could always-" Wade said Peter shushed him by putting his hand on his mouth. Wade just removed his hand and continued to talk to Peter's embarrassment and annoyance.

"Now I must rid the world of your evilness Webs! Even though it would be a shame since I won't be able to stare at it no more. Than again I have those pictures you take of yourself for the Bugle... Eh, still not as good as the real thing you can stay alive I guess." Wade said rambling.

"Wade. Stop talking." Peter said he pressed his gloved hand to the mercs mask silencing the man. Wade stopped his rambling he stared at Peter making him shift uncomfortably.

"Something you wanna tell me baby boy?" Wade asked as he looked at Peter concerned.

"I need to go. I have to question someone." Peter said standing up he had to talk to Harry. Harry wouldn't talk to Spiderman but he'd talk to his friend Peter. Peter and Harry hadn't been the most in touch since he'd started college and he'd taken up his father's business.

"Wait I want to uh tell you something. It's important." Wade said he twiddled his thumbs together for once he avoided Peter's gaze preferring to look down at the slow traffic of New York below them.

"Can I wait this is also important. My friend has a short lunch break I need to catch him when I can." Peter said he stood up he got ready to swing away.

"Yeah, okay." Wade said he sounded disappointed. He seems to instantly withdraw himself doing anything and everything to not look at Peter.

Peter felt guilt take root in him he stopped right before he was about to jump off. "We'll talk later okay? I'll call you." Peter said before he swung off looking over at his shoulder at Wade who waved at him though it felt forced like he didn't want Peter to leave. "Focus Peter. You have more important things to worry about then whatever Wade wants to tell you." Peter said why did he feel so guilty for leaving then?
