"I swear to God, Casey, if you don't come in right now I'll drag you out of the rain we're in the middle of a hurricane!" my sister yelled from the car.
I really need this goal! I kicked the ball to Harvey, who dribbled it away from Lance and shot it into our make shift goal. We all went nuts, the next game is going to be so amazing, i can feel it in my blood.
"Keep up with that playing, and Coach is sure to let you on the team this year," Harvey said to me, slinging his arm over my shoulder. He guided me to the car, with the guys trailing behind us.
"It's about time," my sister grumbled. "Why can't you just be normal, and do normal girl things for once Casey?"
"Sorry, you know better than to interrupt me in the middle of a game, Steph, and I am normal, you're just freakishly girly," I told my sister.
"Whatever."
"Hey Steph, you free Friday night?" Lance asked my sister. That guy just doesn't give up. You see, Lance has this insanely annoying quality; he's a huge flirt. It's even worse because even though we're all family here ,and we never judge, my sister Steph is 5 years older than us and engaged.
Ugh, Marriage. That's one thing I don't have to worry about, thankfully. I made a vow at the end of 6th grade with the rest of the boys that we would never get married. We all knew it would never lead to anywhere good. This was due to the fact that my parents were no longer together.
"And then we could-- Casey! Are u listening?" she asked with an anoyed look on her face.
"Mmhmm. What Steph?" i replied in the same bored tone that i had all day.
"Mom's staying at the shelter tonight to help out during the hurricane. The boys can sleep over today since it's too dangerous to get home right now."
Immediately I heard cheers from four of the boys in the van. It would have been five but Harvey was passed out against the window, his face pressed against the glass making a very unattractive face. I motioned for the boys to quiet down and quickly pointed at Harvey so they understood that we should be quiet.
After Steph parked in the garage, I climbed out like the ninja that I believe I am, and ran around to Harvey's side of the car. After digging my phone out of my pocket, I snapped a quick pic of his face squished against the glass to uploaded unto Facebook.
Unfortunately, I forgot to take off the flash so as soon as it went off, his eyes snapped open, then narrowed at me.
Oh snap. Better start running.
I started running out of the garage that was connected to our house. When I got into the kitchen, I heard the stomping of feet against the tiles behind me. I turned around to see Harvey and Sam. When Harvey started closing in on me, I panicked throwing my phone at Lance who was just coming in. He caught it and threw it to Sam, but his butterfingers couldn't catch it so it flew over his head to the window.
The phone fell down and broke.
That's the third phone I've smashed this month. My mom is going to kill me when she comes home.
A couple of hours later, we were all in the basement playing video games while waiting for our food to be ready. I got up to change controllers, and smelled something burning.
I ran upstairs and opened the oven and a cloud of black smoke came out. I quickly put on some mittens to grab the food in there to avoid it from catching on fire. That's when I saw that one of these numb nuts put in the food without taking off the plastic.
"Guys!" I yelled.
"Crap!" I heard one of them say.
"Who's bright idea was too put plastic in the oven?" I asked.
They all denied in a series of mumbles.
"I know I'm the only girl in the group , but even you guys should know how to cook something so simple."
Lance walked over placing me in a head lock. "Yeah, but that's why we keep you around Casey, for your awesome cooking skills!"
Even though I knew he was joking, I took that opportunity to punch him in the gut to get released from his grasp.
"Hands off the merchandise Smith," I said.
"Wouldn't dream of it Ventura," he shot back.
