Chapter 30: From Bad To Worse

It was 5am in the Newark Hospital, Chris was sleeping beside his wife until he woke up to his phone ringing. He slowly gets up and answers it. "Hello?" asked Chris tiredly. "Chris, it's Suki." said Suki. "Suki? Why are you calling me? It's 5 in the morning." said Chris. "Sorry on such short notice. First things first, is Porsha okay?" asked Suki. "Well the doctor said she's fine. She's just sleeping. What's going on?" asked Chris. "Listen...you guys need to get out of the hospital. Gus DiMarco, the leopard who attacked Porsha. He's dead." said Suki as Chris. "What?! How is that possible?" asked Chris. "Well, apparently he had a faulty pacemaker. It wasn't functioning properly and he died upon arrival at the hospital. Now his brother is very ticked off and is sending soldiers to kill Porsha." explained Porsha. Chris was filled with anxiety as he learned there are people coming to kill his wife. "Chris, get Porsha and the others and meet me in the outskirts of the city." said Suki. "But Porsha isn't awake. I can't just take her out of bed, while she's sleeping!" said Chris. "Chris, they'll kill her if you guys don't leave." said Suki. Chris sighed. "Alright." said Chris as he hung up. Meanwhile, Meena was asleep until her phone rang. She wakes up and sees her boyfriend, Alfonso, calling her. "Hello?" asked Meena. "Babe!" said Alfonso. "Oh, Alfonso." said Meena. "Meena! I've been trying to call you last night! Where have you been?" asked Alfonso. "I was at the hospital. Why? What's going on?" asked Meena. "Listen. A friend of mine told me that you and everyone else is in danger. Apparently, Gus DiMarco is dead and his brother is sending his goons to kill Porsha." said Alfonso. "What?!" said Meena. "Listen, I'm on my way to the hospital. I'll be on the right side of the building." said Alfonso. "Ok. Stay safe. I love you." said Meena. "Love you too, babe." said Alfonso as he hung up. "Guys! Wake up!" said Meena as they woke up. "Meena, what's going on?" asked Johnny. "We need to leave now. There are people coming to kill Porsha." said Meena. "What? Why?" asked Ash. "Gus DiMarco is dead." said Meena as everyone gasped. "Oh no. We got to warn Chris!" said Nooshy as everyone rushed to the door and saw Chris on the other side. "We need to leave!" said both. "We need to get Porsha out of here. I'll carry her out." said Chris as everyone nodded. He goes into the room and carries Porsha. "Chris?" said a voice. Everyone turned and saw Sue. "Nurse Sue! We're all in danger! We need to get Porsha out of here!" said Chris. "What are you talking about? What's going on?" asked Sue. "There's a bit of a problem." said Ash. Suddenly, they heard footsteps and hid behind a wall. "Look everywhere! Anyone standing in our way, kill them!" said a voice. "Yes sir." said another. "Sue. Come with us. You can help us with Porsha." said Meena. "But I can't leave. I have patients to tend to." said Sue. "Well, they're going to kill you if you stay!" said Chris. "Chris, look out!" whispered Meena as she grabbed his tail, saving him from a bullet that nearly hit him. Everyone gasped and his face turned white. "Oh my gosh! It almost hit me! I nearly died! Meena saved me." said Chris in his thoughts. "Sue please. We need your help." pleaded Meena as Sue sighed. "Alright, I'll go with you. Here. We need these for Porsha. In case she wakes up, give her these painkillers." said Sue as Meena nodded and put it in her pocket. Everyone moves to the right side of the hospital, avoiding DiMarco's goons. "Okay. We're almost there." said Chris. "I just got a text from Alfonso. He's here." said Meena. "Let's hurry! This way." said Johnny as they continued down the hall. Suddenly, there was a goon in front of them. Quickly, Chris sprinted to him and put him down with a few kicks and punches. He quickly hides the body in a trash can. He turned to the others, who looked surprised. "What?" said Chris in confusion. "Dude! Where did all that come from?" asked Nooshy, impressed. "Yeah, that was amazing!" said Johnny. "Well, my dad taught me. In case I were in any danger." said Chris as they continued making their way to Alfonso.
