A/N
This is a cute vanilla story with absolutely no toxicity. Vegas in here is a sweet and caring father. One we all hoped he'd become after his redemption arc from the original novel and series. This book is more focused on the relationship between Vegas and Venice.Continue if you're not allergic to too much cuteness.
This was my first book and the writing in the first 13 chapters were a little crappy but got better after that. If you still want to read this, then please go ahead and I hope you enjoy!
Vegas POV
"Pete!" I called at top of my voice. "Where the hell are you? This kid is so impossible to deal with. Why do you leave him with me and wonder about in the house? You know we never get along!" My tone sounded frustrated but I doubt Pete could hear me right now.
How is it so easy for Pete to handle Venice? This boy is an impossible one and why the hell do people keep saying he looks like me?
"Not in a million years kid." I looked into his mischievous eyes and he was shooting me death glares.
It's like we were in some kind of competition and no one was willing to lose. Petty? Of course not, this kid knows what he's doing.
Venice will be a year old in two weeks. He grew up beautifully except, for his nasty attitude toward me every time I wanted to have Pete to myself. We would never see eye to eye on that.
As much as I hated the idea of keeping him at first, I must admit Pete kept to his word and took good care of him. Pete is the best and my life would have been impossible without him.
"Venice, come here," I called out to him as he was making his way out of the room with his super tiny legs. He kept laughing without looking back.
"You're impossible" I brought my hand up to my temper to massage it.
I needed to follow this kid wherever it is he was heading. He knew every corner of the house. How interesting.
I kept a little distance between us whiles slowly walking behind him. The bodyguards spotted Venice and they happen to laugh among themselves.
"Hi, Khun Venice." the bodyguards greeted in unison and the Little demon couldn't seem to stop jumping up and down happily.
"Do you want to be a boss that much? In your dreams kid." I came down, a little closer to his level.
"There's only one boss here and it's me. If your Pa Pete is not here that is." I patted his back and he didn't hesitate to slap my hand off him with a frown. I thought we could finally get along but he wasn't willing.
We finally spotted Pete and it wasn't surprising he was with Macau playing basketball on the court. Venice upon seeing Pete began running happily toward him. It's been just a few hours so why is he acting as if Pete traveled for days? I rolled my eyes and followed him.
"The hell are you two doing?" I asked, making my way over to them.
"I wanted to play basketball for a bit," Pete replied, showing his pretty smile and dimple. "You decided to leave me with him so you could play basketball? The both of us together in the house, we'll probably burn it down." I sarcastically stated.
"You both are alike, bro. You both have the same facial features, and don't get me started on how you two have the same temper. He's a complete replica of you." Macau laughed.
"Vegas," Pete called whiles picking Venice up into his arms and kissing him on his forehead. "You two should get along. It's almost a year and you still compete with our baby."
"Compete you say? How many hours of your time have you given me since the little demon came? He cried whenever I wanted to have some fun and alone time with you and you quickly leave me to go attend to him. Of course, I'm jealous." I said pouting childishly.
"You're such a child," Pete replied, moving closer to embrace me in a hug.
Venice seemed to be in his world, clapping his hands together happily. I don't blame him. Pete's arms are indeed a happy place to be.
Macau also went behind Pete, playing with Venice and it was a cute sight to behold. Macau had been quite happy ever since the arrival of Venice. They were inseparable and sometimes, they slept together. When it happens like this, I get to have my alone time with Pete without any disturbance from the little demon.
"Hey bro, I'll be out for a while. I'm going somewhere with Porchay in a bit." Macau says suddenly.
"Where are you two going?" Curiosity was written all over my face.
"We're just going to a pub to grab some drinks."
"Wow since Porchay is finally legal, he wants to explore the real world so soon? I teased and Pete elbowed me from the side.
"Just be careful and don't drink and drive." Pete cautioned.
"Okay, I'll be careful," Macau replied before walking away but not before muttering I love you to Pete.
The both of them got along quite well to my surprise. Pete has been a good guardian to my boy. Pete is indeed the pillar of this family and our lives wouldn't be the same without him."
"I hope these kids don't go messing around or I'll be dealing with Macau." Pete gave me his usual glare and I was quick to shut up. I never wanted to get on his backside.
"Just leave the kids alone to have some fun, Vegas."
"Copy that," I replied, snaking my arm around his waist and pulling him closer. "Can I get a kiss?"
"Can't you see Venice is around?" He pulled a little bit away from me.
"What has that got to do with me?" I narrowed my eyes at him.
"He's too young to see such things so don't you dare try to make him see stuff like this at an early age." He replied, trying to make his way back into the house.
"I'll get you tonight Pete. Just wait." I stated before following him into the house but not before smacking him on the ass.
"I'll kill you, Vegas." He shouts.
"Oh yes, you will tonight," I smirked.
We finally made our way into the house with the bodyguards staring at us with amused expressions. They wanted to laugh but they dare not with the fake glare I gave them.
This is it for this chapter. See you next!
