At the company

We arrived at the company in no time and began making our way inside. I held Venice tightly in my arms with his lunch box hanging to my side. I do look like a dad. I smiled to myself.

Everyone kept staring as this was a new sight to them. I couldn't blame them because I wasn't used to this myself.

Venice was holding onto me so tight that I felt he was going to rip my shirt at a point.

He did not like seeing new faces. That detail I knew so well. He is an introvert just like myself and Macau.

"Don't worry, no one's going to hurt you," I whispered whiles patting and running soothing circles on his back. He finally relaxed in my arms. Great.

We made our way to my office where I needed to sign the documents. They were already on the desk when I got in. I sat down gently, putting Venice on my lap, and proceeded with what I needed to do. Venice kept trying his best to lean in to see what I was doing but unfortunately, he was too far from the documents.

"You wanna be a boss this bad?" I teased and he let out a giggle.

He's so cute when he's not fighting with me. I gently run my hand through his soft hair. A smile made its way to my lips and couldn't stop it.

He understood words a little and could even say a couple of words too but with that unless you are Pete. He was always mute towards me unless he wanted to frustrate me that is.

"I'd let you succeed me if you behaved well but as stubborn as you are, I doubt it." He slapped me hard on the hand, making the pen I was holding fall to the ground.

"What the hell, little demon? Did you even understand what I just said Unbelievable!" I looked surprisingly at him. He stared at me for a second before going back to play with his toy.

I was finally done with the document and looked at the time. It was almost midday and Venice had to eat.

"Let's get something in you, buddy." I stood up from behind my desk and made us comfortable on the couch.

Venice began clapping his hands excitedly as he bumped up and down on the couch at the sight of food.

"Food!" He blurts out loudly.

"You're always a foodie, huh?" I asked but he paid no attention to my words as his only focus was the food.

I brought him to my lap and made sure he was comfortable before starting to feed him.

He ate to his fill which made me kinda happy. Why's he so obedient all of a sudden? Or was it my doing because I never had the thought of being this close to him and now that I am, he's suddenly different?

"You wanted me to be this way with you all this while, buddy?" I asked him. He looked at me with cheerful eyes. He's so cute and honestly, I couldn't take my eyes off him.

My phone began to ring and I realized it was Pete.

He finally decides to call and It's indeed a video call like he promised. What wouldn't he do for Venice?

"Hey Pete, you miss me already don't you? We should have gone all night so you wouldn't be missing me this much" I said slyly.

"You bastard." He replied.

"Where are you guys?"

"We're at the company." I turned the camera around so he could see the office.

"And you brought our baby with you?"

"Yes, he's here with me." I looked up to see him playing on the floor with his toys.

"Let me see him," Pete says impatiently.

I walked over to Venice so he could see him.

"Hello, my cutest little pumpkin".
Pete got Venice's attention with this.

"PA!" he screamed as soon as he saw Pete.

He grabbed the tablet from me so he could see Pete. He begins to poke the screen.

"Does he think he could touch you in there?" I asked laughing out loud.

"Shut up, Vegas! Don't interrupt our moment."

"Pa is going to return to you soon, okay?"

Venice nodded his head at whatever Pete just said and went back to playing with his toys, dropping the tablet which made Pete frown.

"How are you two not burning down the office? It always seems to be fire when you guys are around each other. Did you work some kind of magic on him?" Pete asked surprised.

"I'm as surprised as you are. I never imagined he was going to give in to me like he is doing now. You think he's liking me now?" I asked with a little sadness in my voice. Spending time with him like this, I wish we could get a little bit closer.

"Vegas, you're so silly. Venice always liked you. Why do you think he always tried to make you chase him all over? When playing the chase game, did you ever see him cry? He's always laughing and giggling. You're just not used to it so you think he's deliberately frustrating you."

"I know you're scared you wouldn't be a great dad to him but trust me, you are nothing like your father. I'm always gonna be by your side and we're going to bring up our boy together the best we can. You trust me right?" Pete asked.

I hadn't realized I got teary from his long speech.

"I do, Pete... I trust you" I replied while bringing my hand up to wipe the silly tear off my cheek.

Suddenly, I felt a hand touch my face. The hand made its way closer to my eyes.

"Venice?" I looked to my side seeing him standing beside me on the couch. When did he climb up?

He tilts his head curiously, as he looked at me and suddenly frowned.

"Did he notice the tear just now?" I asked Pete.

"He probably saw your sad face and wanted to console you I guess" he replied with a wide smile.

"Come here." I pulled Venice into my arms and hugged him tightly.

"Feels good right?" Pete was staring at the both of us with fondness in his eyes.

"Weirdly I feel good, Pete," I replied refusing to look into his eyes.

"You guys should wait for my return, Pete says before hanging up, leaving me still hugging the little demon close to my chest.

We're making progress Khun Wegath!

See you in the next chapter.
