The two young men leaned against a bridge, enjoying their time out after having dinner not so long ago. The night breeze kissed their faces tenderly as they were immersed in their conversation.

"Do you think we should leave now? It's almost 10 pm and we'll be dead if we do not go back home." Phoenix mumbled to an unwilling Venice.

"Let's stay for a while okay?" Venice said with a sinister smile playing on his lips.

Phoenix has always been the mischievous one but sometimes he thought Venice was worse than he was. "Your dad will have your head if we do not leave now and so will mine." He reasoned.

Venice sighed at his annoying cousin and finally gave in. "Okay fine! Let's head back now."

Phoenix exhaled sharply. "Thank goodness you finally agreed." He picked up his helmet.

Both boys were about to get on the bike when Venice's phone rang. He smirked after realizing who it was. He brought the phone to his ear to speak but...

"I swear to the heavens I'll teach you a lesson you'll remember for eternity!"

The voice was so loud Venice brought the phone away from his ear. He would be rendered deaf if care was not taken.

"Calm down mom." Venice teased and the person on the line snapped.

"Are you messing with me? Your curfew is 9 pm and you're still not home? Get yourself back here before I get mad!" Pete was on the verge of exploding. Venice would be the death of him.

"Just go to bed, mom. I'll be home soon."

"This brat..."

Venice hung up before Pete could scold him further.

Phoenix also got a threatening text from Porsche and was expecting the worst when he got home but Venice amused him more. "You still call your Pa mom? You developed that habit in high school. You're one weird boy, Venice."

Venice laughed. "He gets pissed whenever I called him that. I love it when he's angry. Besides, he's slowly getting accustomed to the name even." He snickered. "Let's head back, my mom is probably burning down the house."

They both got on the bike and hit the road in no time.

Two hours later, Venice finally arrived home after dropping Pheonix at the main mansion. He made his way inside the house and saw all the lights turned off. Relief washed over him as he wouldn't have to face a nagging mom. He was too tired to be scolded.

He made little noise just so he wouldn't alarm anyone of his presence. He adjusted to the darkness and began to saunter his way to the stairs.

"You finally arrived." Pete's voice reverberated in the dark, his tone so cold and fierce that it sent shivers up Venice's spine.

He halted his steps and tried to locate where Pete was. "Mom? You-you're not asleep?" Venice asked with his eyes darting everywhere.

Before he could locate where Pete was, he was smacked hard on the head, and right after, his ears were painfully being pulled.

"Ahh... Ouch! That hurts!" He groaned as he was being dragged up the stairs by the ear.

Pete had no intention of letting the brat off so easily. Vegas had been all grumpy since afternoon and Pete had no choice but to tolerate his husband.
