Venice made his way out of class, heading over to the usual spot his parents always parked. He frowned when he got to the parking lot and found neither of his parents there to pick him up. He settled on waiting for some time. Maybe something was keeping them. The boy waits for a while when finally a black Maserati car pulled up. He looked up quickly but sighed when he realized it wasn't them.
The door opened and a man came out of the car. Venice raised a brow at the person he saw.
"Uncle Kinn?" He said in a surprised tone.
"Hey there Venice," Kinn says as he walked up to the boy. He was about to touch the boy when Venice took a few steps back away from him.
"Why do you look surprised? Your daddy didn't tell you I will be the one to pick you up?"
"No one told me anything." Venice frowned. Kinn brought his hand up to his waist and let out a deep sigh. "Your daddy Vegas asked me to pick you up for today. He had an important business to attend to together with your Pa Pete and so I'm here to take you to the main house."
The boy's eyes widened as he heard he will be taken to the main house.
"P'Macau is supposed to return from his camp today. Shouldn't he be picking me up instead?" Kinn let out a sigh.
"Venice, I learned your big brother will not make it today. Can we go already? We have to get you home."
Venice was silent for what felt like forever before finally speaking up.
"Okay, I will go with you Uncle." Kinn was suddenly relieved but Venice wasn't done talking. "I will go with you only when I confirm from my daddy he's indeed away on a trip." The boy says to Kinn's surprise.
Kinn couldn't believe the boy had just said that like he was about to kidnap him. He let out an amused laughed and Venice crossed his arms over his chest.
This kid is unbelievable. He's just like his dad.
Kinn brought out his phone and placed a call to Vegas.
"Don't tell me you couldn't handle this little task dear cousin," Vegas said on the other end of the line.
"Can you not start right now Vegas? Remember I'm doing you a favor." Kinn replies, looking over at an impatient Venice.
"Vegas, your boy wants to talk to you first before he follows me home," Kinn says as he hands the phone over to Venice.
Venice quickly took it and proceeded to talk to his dad.
"Is it true you went somewhere with Pa to attend to something urgent?" Venice asked, looking suspiciously at his Uncle.
"Sorry buddy, it wasn't planned. We'll be back tomorrow to fetch you at the main house, okay?"
Venice was not happy about the sudden turn of events.
"Okay, I'll go with Uncle then but make sure you come for me tomorrow or I will just go back home myself." The boy replies, bringing a laugh out of Vegas.
"Sure buddy, see you tomorrow," Vegas said and finally hung up. Venice gave the phone back to Kinn and made his way to the car without a word.
This kid is something else. Kinn looked amused.
The drive was a quiet one as Venice kept looking out the window. Kinn was frustrated with the silence and tried to bring up a conversation.
"Venice, can I tell you something?" The kid curiously looked at Kinn and nodded.
"Do you know the present I gave you on your first birthday?" Kinn asks and Venice kept staring at him without saying a word.
"It was a birthday vacation. The whole family went on the trip and guess what? You were super close to me back then. You didn't even want to leave my side for a second. Your daddy vegas got jealous at a point, don't you remember?" Kinn finished and the boy smiled faintly at what he just heard.
