One week later.

I put on a cute outfit, do my make-up, and curl my uncooperative hair. Then, my usual morning. Breakfast, small talk with my mother, grad my backpack, and lastly out the door. A walk with Jace to school. Talking about whether pigs should fly or not. In the end, we both agree that it would be cool if pigs could fly.

"You excited for lunch. Sitting with a different crowd?" Braydon asks me as soon as I get to my locker, poking me in the shoulder.

I poke him back as I say, "Yeah. But, it's only homeroom. Why are you so excited?"

"Cause! I can't wait to sit with my girlfriend."

"Really?"

"Really." We both smile.

"Hey."

"What?" He asks.

"Can Jace sit with us, too?"

"Yeah! Of course! I'm sure Jen wouldn't mind." Crap! I forgot about her...

"Right. Jen wouldn't mind at all would she?"

"No, not at all." Then he leans over to me and fake whispers, "You know, to be honest, she has a HUGE crush on him."

"Yeah. I got that the first day he came."

"Me too. She told me, and I was like, 'I already know.'" He kisses me, again. "I love doing that! See you in the cafeteria, babe."

"See you." I wave good-bye and walk to my locker. I get my stuff for Algebra 2 and close my locker. I scream. Jace is standing right behind my locker door making the creepiest face I have ever seen.

Jace is laughing, hysterically. "Hi...Rose..." he says in between breaths. I have to join in on the laughter. My heart is still racing.

"Hey. Didn't - didn't see you there." I stutter.

"Yeah," he chuckles. "I can see that." He finally got it down to a low roar, and can actually talk.

"Shut up!" I laugh.

"Shall we go to Algebra 2?" He asks.

"We shall" I joke.

The day goes pretty quick. Before I know it, I'm one period away from presenting the 'Mitten Machine' project.

All they talk about at lunch is how much they hate other people in our school. I feel bad for the people they talk bad about. They can't help it. I feel like a awkward penguin. Sitting there, not contributing to the conversation. Jace is kind of doing the same thing. He talks to them more than I do, though.

"And Lizzy Olson is so ugly. Like, please wear contacts," Jen gossips.

A chorus of 'yeahs' and 'I knows' follow up. It goes on like that all of lunch. Jen says something and people say things to support her.

I read somewhere once that in a hive, when the queen bee tells you to do something, the bee has to do it or else the queen slaughters it. It's kinda like this here. Jen is the queen bee and her friends are the worker bees. Jen tells her friends her opinion, and if they don't agree they get banned from the group.

I mean, it has like nothing to do with killing, but its close enough.

Of course, to top it off, Jen had to sit beside Jace. Of course! Though, everyone wanted to sit beside Jace. Fortunately, I got a seat on the other side of him. The table was so crowded. Literately, every seat was filled.

I don't know why it makes me so mad that she likes Jace, but it does.

Then again, pretty much every girl in the grade likes him.

After lunch, I have English. The period Braydon and I present. I have to admit, I'm kind of nervous.

We did a pretty decant job. Surprisingly, no one else had that idea. There were lots of cool presentation, but my favorite was Jace and Quinn's. Even though, Quinn didn't really let Jace do anything, but stand there holding the mitten and occasionally, saying some lines. Like, "I know! " and "This product is so cool." I don't think it was planed because Quinn kept giving him dirty looks. Jace was so fake, everyone was crying from laughing so hard. Well, every human. Quinn was not. Even, Jace was laughing really hard. They got an A.

Braydon and I got an A, too, but ours didn't get the reaction Jace and Quinn's did.

"Hey." Braydon stops me in the hall after class.

"Oh! Hey," I greet him.

"We did great!" He smiles and kisses me. A quick kiss. Nothing really to it. Not anything like when Jace and I kissed on 'Henry Danger'.

"Yeah, I guess we did."

"So," he starts after an awkward pause.

"Yes?"

"Would you like to go to The Olive Garden tonight?"

"Yes! That sounds like fun!" I exclaim. Our first date!

"Cool! So, I'll pick you up at 7?"

"Sounds good."

"Sweet. Let me practice." I have no idea what he means until he picks me up. Literally. He picks me up in the middle of the hall, twirls me around, and sets me back down.

"Ahh!" I laugh. "That...was...breath taking."

"Thanks. I know I am."

"You're so modest," I say, sarcastically.

"See you tonight, babe."

"Bye." I wave. My first date with Braydon is tonight, and I haven't even told my mom about him. I don't know how she will react to me having a boyfriend, let alone the date. Now I'm nervous. I'm not nervous talking to Braydon anymore, thank God.
