Chapter Twenty Seven: The Hospital Beds

Two Days Later
3rd Person POV

Hawkins had basically been destroyed. The town thought of it as a severe earthquake, a tragedy. Only the real ones knew the reason behind this.

A lot happened that night. Max's bones had snapped, she was blinded. Vecna got to her.

Eleven, Mike, Will and Jonathan met up with everyone. Somehow they knew all about what happened.

They didn't know about Max, Eleven thought she had saved her. She was in hospital, along with Eddie and Sam.

Dustin and Nancy didn't want to leave their bodies in the upside down, so the four of them carefully carried them though the best they could into hospital.

Although it was certain they were dead, there was a chance that they could still make it.

Eddie was still a wanted man, of course. The doctor said after he was out the police would most likely take care of him.

"Hey! Where is everyone else?" Eleven asked Dustin, after a long hug between her, him and Will.

"Wait- you don't.. you don't know? Oh god." Dustin said, feeling his heart fall even further if it was even possible.

Everyone went to the hospital room in which it held Eddie, Sam and Max all together. Lucas was sat on the side next to Max holding her hand.

"What happened to them?" El asked.

"We think they were attacked by bats." Nancy said sadly.

Mike saw his sister laying there, and although he acted as if he hated her at home, he loved her really and did care. He rushed over to the hospital bed.

"Sam! Hello? Can you hear me? Squeeze my hand if you-" Mike panicked.

"Mike.." Nancy said slowly. "I've already tried."

"What's the harm in trying again?!"

Mike held Sam's hand. Desperately waiting for response.

"Do you know what position we found her in?" Nancy said, a slight smile on her face.

"What?"

"She was holding Eddie's hand."

"I knew it!" He said, smiling.

Dustin was sat by Eddie's bed.

"Come on Eddie." He whispered. All of a sudden, excitement came over him. "Guys! Eddie just- he just- his hand he moved it!"

"What?! Really?" Mike asked.

Everyone looked a tad happier. Happy that there was hope for at least one of the three lying down.

"Get a doctor get a doctor!" Dustin called out, and Will rushed to get a doctor.

"So he's moving, you say?" The doctor came running in with hope. She did some checking on Eddie's heart beat, temperature and more. "It seems your friend is okay. He is alive, somehow. Luckily. It's a miracle. If you didn't bring him here, he would be dead. Now, just wait for him to wake up and then he will be free to go."

Everyone looked a tad happier then before. Sam still hadn't made any movements and still hadn't given any signs to debate whether or not she had the same fate.

"Do you think she'll wake up?" Nancy asked.

"She will. She doesn't give up so easily." Mike answered. "Does mum know she's here?"

"Yeah, she came to visit the second we brought her here. She had to go back home though, sort things out." Nancy explained. "How was California?"

"It could've been better." Mike smiled. "When she wakes up i hope she knows how much i am going to wind her up about Eddie. Same with him."

"Don't be too cruel." Nancy chuckled. "She's been through a lot, clearly. The doctor said she died. They said she still has a chance, but if we didn't bring her here, then.. you know."

"Yeah.."

"Eddie?" Dustin asked.

"Dustin? What am i- did i die?" Eddie asked, shocked, looking around.

"You lost a lot of blood, so did Sam. But you're both here now, you're okay."

"Sam-" Eddie looked at Sam, who was still unconscious laying there. "Is she gonna be okay?"

"She'll be fine. Are you?"

"I mean i hurt all over... but i was bitten by bats so uh-" Eddie smiled.

"That was a brave thing you did. You didn't run."

"Eddie Munson?" The police came walking into the hospital room.

"Oh shit." Eddie muttered under his breath.

"We aren't going to be taking anything further. We have no evidence as to how you did the murders. Therefore you are free, and not guilty." The chief said.

Eddie let out a sigh of relief and anyone could tell he relaxed after hearing those words. But anyone knew he wasn't all relaxed because Sam was still there, unconscious.
