Chapter 17 Waves

Niall's Pov

When me and Harry got back from our quick swim and dried off, the lads and Lottie were all in the living room waiting for us, with Liam and Zayn playing a game on the thingy with the tv with Lottie watching them and Louis on his phone.

I walked in first, gaining all of their attention, Harry close behind me.

When we got out of the water, there were no words between us, even the swim was quiet. We laid out on the sun and he kept his eyes on his brick, that I've learned was called a phone, and occasionally, tapped away at it furiously.

As soon as Harry walked in, Louis stood, and Harry went straight to him, the two of them silently walking out of the room for privacy. I shut the door, figuring out the lock thing, before joining the quiet trio on the couch.

"Well," Lottie clicked her tough, staring after the two that walked off. "They didn't choose to be subtle."

I shrugged, going to sit next to Zayn. "I guess they don't care or whatever."

Lottie waved it off and didn't say anything so I watched Zayn and Liam do something on the tv with the things they held in their hands. I tried to remember what they were called but I just shook the thought away and snuggled close to Zayn, who laid back focused, but leaned into me as well.

Ever since the night me and my human had...kissed, is the word, he has stayed close beside me and I really enjoyed it. But I did want to kiss my human again, but I have no idea how to...plus my human said he wanted to take me out first, whatever that means.

All I know is that my human clearly wants to be with me and I'm happy.

A few moments passed of Zayn and Liam playing their game but once they finished and were clicking off, Louis and Harry appeared around the corner.

"Hey lads, we're gonna head to my mum's, if you wanna come," Louis said with a smile to his face, grabbing a piece of clothing, a jacket, and metal things that clinked together.

Lottie perked up. "Let me get my stuff and I'll head back with you guys."

She stood, going off to gather her stuff she brought with her here. I watched her as Liam perked up then too.

"Can I go? Your mum is literally so cool," he said and Louis chuckled.

"Yeah, she likes you and Zayn too. You wanna come too, Zayn?" Louis asked Zayn and I looked to him. If my human wanted to go, then I'd go to but really, I wanted to be with my human alone too.

"No, actually, I just wanted hang out around here," He said slowly and Louis just shrugged.

"Alright, zaynie, have fun in the mirror," Louis held a teasing tone to his voice though I didn't get his joke while he turned to me. "You staying with him or coming too?"

"Staying with him," I answered without hesitation and out of the corner of my eye, Zayn laid back against the couch with a twitch to his lips. Louis, Liam and Harry all had knowing looks to their faces.

Just in time, Lottie came into the room with a thing around her shoulder, clicking into my mind that it was a bag, with her stuff.

She didn't bother to wait for me or Zayn, perhaps hearing our conversation before coming into the room. "Alright, let's go."

She opened the door and walked out. Harry followed her with a wave to both Zayn and me. Louis and Liam were the last ones out. Liam said his farewells with a knowing smirk and Louis stood there at the threshold.

"Have fun you two," he winked before shutting the door behind him. Immediately, I looked to Zayn who had a thoughtful looked to his face. I sat and waited, wondering what to do now. But as I heard a sound, like a heavy door shutting, Zayn smiled to me.
