Chapter 24 Give Me Water

Niall's Pov

The car ride was silent. I was in the passenger seat with Zayn driving us to the beach on the side closest to the rocks.

Liam, Lottie and Louis sat in the back, all in silence, with Harry mainly curled up upon Louis's lap.

After Lottie's and Louis's mom suddenly appeared and took away Harry's supposed father, Louis was quick to gather Harry in his arms and hurry to the car. He didn't ask questions because across his face, he knew, as he threw the keys to Zayn.

It was tense. Louis knew that we had a secret but not what it was truly.

The car rolled to a stop, breaking my thoughts like glass. I looked up from my lap, feeling a soft hand caress my skin in a ghost touch. I knew it was Zayn but I was too busy looking at the sky and how much it had darkened already. It really hit me; how fast the day had come and gone.

Louis was ready, climbing out of the car already with Liam's help. Zayn was out of the car as well, jogging around to open my door and guide me out. As soon as Lottie stepped out of the car too, Louis eyed me and so I started the trek to the caves.

I was waiting for the questions to be thrown at me; his suspicions and Liam's. But none of us uttered a word. Really, I didn't think I had the courage to do so.

I could feel the draw and presence of the ocean beside me coming in waves just like waves that wash ober the sand, leaving behind shells and other little trinkets from the sea. The sand was warm and rocky beneath my covered feet and I was still amazed how I could feel it still through the human things that confined my feet.

This kept my mind distracted and put my feet to work. When I came to, I was walking faster then I thought but the others were with me and so it wasn't long before we reached the rocks.

It took everything in me not to jump in.

The itch in my skin it told me of what tonight was. I didn't even realize but it was a full moon. I almost panicked but realized that the dimming sky still indicated that I had plenty of time before midnight to jump in so I wouldn't lose my tail.

"Where do we go after this?" Lottie spoke being the first to do so since we left Harry's house. "I thought this was only a dead end within the cliff?"

We were climbing the rocks; Liam, Lottie and Zayn were all helping Louis with Harry who was all unconscious but certainly it was not all blissful. The pain etched in the skin of his face, around his eyes, spoke of it.

Lottie's question bounced around my mind but I could feel the power of the pool. It was stronger in these nights like this one and it was making me feel warm and really bothered.

My feet were moving before my mouth was. "Its down here..."

Even my voice sounded so far off but their soft footsteps followed me as I jumped over the ledge right at the edge of the cliff at the far side.

"Niall," Louis was the one to call out. "Where are you taking us? Why-"

"You have no time for questions," I spoke and my voice sounded foreign to my own ears. "If you want to help Harry, you've gotta trust me."

Louis gave me a hard stare. I shook it off as Zayn jumped down beside me and reached up to help Lottie. Liam and Zayn held out their hands to hold Harry as Louis climbed down with them before taking Harry back.
