Niall's Pov

The king stood in all his glory on the boat, his trident glowing powerfully as the waves suddenly came to a stop by his command.

His eyes glowed a deep grey blue, with fury circling within them. The fury directed towards the hunters who stared back him with fear.

Except for Desmond, who's anger only grew. "So you finally decided to show your bloody face?"

The king was unfazed. His eyes flickered to me, to Jay and the boys who held a shaking lottie, then back to Desmond.

"Let them go, Desmond," his majesty finally spoke, in a low smooth voice, one similar to Harry's. "This is only between us."

"Robin-" Jay started but the king lifted his trident, making her stop as it came back down on the ground. The waves crashed and thunder rumbled through the air, the kings eyes glowing threateningly as the sky grew darker in his rage.

Desmond laughed and the sound turned in my gut. I shook, in pain and in fear. I have never seen the king like this and I didn't like the way the hunter and the King stood face to face with each other, history of rage curling in their eyes.

"I will because I have no use for the bloody sirens. Honestly, they're better off dead now thanks to you and you will watch them die by my hands and you will be blamed," Desmond's voice held dark, angry, tones that were meant to cut but the king didn't bat an eye.

"Why come to this Desmond?" His majesty cocked his head to the side. "Why kill them and not me?"

"You need to feel the pain I felt when you lead my daughter to her death-" the hunter's voice grew louder with every word.

"I did not kill her. It was the hunters that followed us," the king interrupted him.

"She shouldn't have followed you-"

"She wanted to leave," the king's voice was cold, making the air all too silent like the water below me that sat still. For a second, I forgot the pain I felt in my arms.

Desmond held so much sadness and anger in his eyes from Robin's words while the king sat there, staring at him with a blank face, no remorse.

"No..." he shook his head. "You made her go, you got her killed-"

The king was going to protest but the waves suddenly grew to be rocky. But the source of the rocky waves, shot out of the water, a silhouette of bright green and darkness.

And I realized that, it was Harry jumping for me with a glinting knife aimed for the ropes holding me up.

Louis's Pov

Me and the lads and Lottie were sitting ducks behind my mum who stood at the side between the mermaid King and Desmond while they stood off, face to face in a showdown.

The king looked elegant while Desmond looked angry, almost in pain. The was steady but it seems something disrupted it.

All of a sudden, a dark green shadowy figure jumped out of the water, creating a wave that followed the tail of the figure. I watched, amazed, realizing that it was Harry who had a determined look upon his face as he launched himself at Niall, something shining in his hands.

It was a piece of glass or even a knife in his hands, raised up and aimed at the ropes holding Niall. Felt like it only happened in seconds before him and Niall were dropping into the water.

The second they shut the water, it kicked the ball rolling. Desmond jumped forward, lunging towards the king. The other hunters took action as well, leaping forward to push us back onto our boats with knifes and guns in their hands. I had nothing to protect myself so I dove away to find lottie, pulling her behind my back just in time to see the king raise his trident towards Desmond.
