Speechless Wonders

Mak was completely unprepared when Nick gave her someone's number. He refused to tell her who it was. All Nick would say is that is a dork, but it made her wonder if it was the other boy that she saw at Nicks house. She could only assume that this mystery boy was also one of Nick's brothers, given the fact that their eyes were the same and they share similar features. Mak was unsure of a lot of things, but she was sure about one thing, which was the feeling this guy gave her. This guy always left her speechless. There was just something about him that made her unable to say a word. All she could do was take in his features anytime she laid eyes on him. His eyes felt like home, and his smile left a warm feeling in her stomach.

"Mak?" Mak then turned her head towards Shay, who had just made them waffles for breakfast. "Are the waffles not good? I made your favorite." Shay asked with a frown. She had made Mak waffle with strawberries and whipped cream, and it wasn't that they weren't good, it was just that her mind was somewhere else.

"That waffles are fine, Shay. I was just thinking about something." Mak replied as she then began to eat her waffles. Shay then raised an eyebrow in curiosity as she watched her friend for a moment.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Mak then smiled as she shook her head.

"It's nothing, but if it becomes something, then you'll be the first to know." A smile formed on the burgundy haired female's lips as she shook her head in disbelief.

"I can't believe it. Some boy's got you wrapped around his finger, and he probably doesn't even know it yet." Mak's cheeks began to heat up from her friend's words as her eyes widened in shock. How could she possibly know that? Because unlike everyone else, Shay can read Mak like a book.

"Shut up and go back to texting Matt." Mak replied as she picked up her plate of waffled and took off to her room. She was too embarrassed to be around Shay, but little did she know that Shay's cheeks turned a dark shade of red from what Mak said. Shay was still texting Matt, but she was unsure of where it would lead. Which was both terrifying and exciting for her. The only thing that worries her is the fact that Matt is 18 and Shay is 21. Matt turns 19 soon, but Shay can't help but feel odd about talking to the guy. Apart of her feels like she needs to meet his parents, before she can meet him in person. Matt assures her that what there is nothing wrong with them talking, but Shay can't help but wonder in the back of her mind.

Regardless of what you look like, you will always be beautiful in my eyes. Looks don't always matter at the end of the day. It's the heart that really counts. Also, I'm having a great morning, because I get to talk to you. <3

Shay couldn't help but smile to herself. She could see herself getting close to Matt, trusting him, and maybe even love him one day. All of which scare her to no end, but she knew that regardless of how scared she is that she doesn't want this to be over. She likes talking to Matt, and she's rather comfortable with him. Even if they are just texting each other. He makes her want to be better, maybe even a little more adventurous.

Before she could stop herself, she sent something that left even her speechless.

Shay didn't even realize that she was holding her breath after she sent that message. She was afraid that she had said something too soon. But she sighed in relief when Matt texted her back. She even found herself smiling at his one-word reply.
