Jennie leaned back against Lisa's chest and smiled contentedly, feeling Lisa tighten her arms around her with a gentle squeeze. Today was supposed to be Lisa's first day of band rehearsal in preparation for the upcoming tour, but Jennie had convinced her to take one more day off to recuperate from her injury.
She'd expected Lisa to protest, but she hadn't put up much of a fight. Lisa had been content enough to spend the day cuddling with her on the couch, watching movies on hotel pay-per-view. Lisa had wanted some Will Ferrell comedy, but she'd given in gracefully when Jennie found one of her all-time favourites on the menu - The Princess Bride.
"I haven't seen this in years," Jennie said now with a sigh. "I forgot how much I love this movie."
"I remember," Lisa replied.
"Do you?" She turned her neck to look at Lisa's face for a moment.
"Please..." Lisa said with a chuckle. "You used to force me to watch this with you every single time I was sick."
"I did not force you!" Jennie protested. "You like this movie too!"
Lisa smiled at her and shrugged.
"Really?" Jennie furrowed her forehead at Lisa. "Do you not want to watch this?"
"No, no," Lisa said, taking her eyes away from the screen for a moment to look down at Jennie. "I like watching you watch it."
She turned back toward the TV. "What does that mean?" Jennie asked.
"You have a thing for the stable boy," Lisa said. "I know how he gets you all hot and bothered."
Jennie giggled. "He is yummy."
She could sense Lisa rolling her eyes behind her. "He's ok."
"Don't be jealous, Lisa."
Lisa pressed her lips to the top of Jennie's head for a moment. "What is it about him anyway?"
Lisa mused. "Is it the moustache?"
Jennie felt Lisa lift her arm and idly trace her finger above her own upper lip.
"Oh no..." Jennie said, turning back around and pulling Lisa's hand away from her face. "You are not getting a moustache. Don't you dare!"
"I might look good with a moustache! Maybe I should get a moustache prop?"
"You will look terrible with a moustache."
"You're just culturally ignorant." Lisa said, narrowing her eyes at Jennie. "Everyone knows it's a nod to Freddie Mercury."
Jennie narrowed her own eyes and glared back at Lisa before twisting to face the screen again. "More like a nod to Super Mario Brothers."
Jennie crossed her arms in front of her chest in feigned indignation, but she felt Lisa's shoulders shaking with silent laughter behind her, and she couldn't prevent the corners of her mouth from curving upwards.
"Oh look," Lisa said after a moment. "Here comes your favourite part."
Jennie glanced up at Lisa again, before turning back to watch the scene where Buttercup sends her true love tumbling head over heels down the side of a steep hill.
"Seriously?" Jennie said, after the lovers' kiss was rudely interrupted by a cut-away to the annoying grandson. "Lisa, how do you remember my favourite scene?"
"I know what you like." Lisa muttered. "Beat a person up 'til she's reduced to nothing but a bloody pulp, and she still comes back for more. That's your idea of romance."
Jennie turned around again and put one hand on Lisa's cheek, cupping her face. "Awww..." Jennie said in a little girl's voice. "Did somebody get a boo-boo?"
Lisa stuck out her lower lip and nodded at Jennie pathetically. "Yes, I did."
"Here, let me kiss it and make it better..."
