((A/N: I spent all morning/afternoon crying because chapter 265 got delayed for another week and now I don't know what to do until then 🥺 Also...I know I've said this before but ima say it again....Ya'll are finna HATE me!!! 😂🤣))

"I'm here, I'm here!!"

You rushed inside the cafe and shouted, making everyone turn their heads to you.

How embarrassing.

You- "Sorry, carry on."

Everyone then continued what they were doing.

I need to stop doing that..

You tell yourself.

Your eyes scan around the cafe until you saw your fiancé sitting in booth by the window.

Smiling once he sees you approaching him and sitting across from him.

You- "I'm so sorry, I would've been here sooner but someone fell and I had to help him."

Derek- "Its fine, I already ordered the food if that's okay, you just gotta tell them your drink."

You- "Yeah, thank you so much."

Derek- "So how's your day been?"

You- "Tiring, I just want to go home and sleep again."

Derek- "Yeah, your work is always keeping you on your toes."

You- "And what about you? How's the district been treating you?"

Derek- "Ah...It is alot of work but you know...its work."

You- "Yeah."

A waitress then comes in with the food order and Derek's drink.

"Would you like anything to drink miss?"

You- "Uh, just some water for now, thank you."

"Of course, let me know if you both need anything."

Derek- "Thank you."

The waitress nods and leaves to get you your cup of water, placing it on the table a few seconds later.

You two eat in silence for a but until Derek spoke up.

Derek- "(Y/N)?"

You look up at him to give him your full attention.

Derek- "I....I have to leave on a business trip a longs way from home for about a week or so."

You- "Oh yeah? Why's that?"

Derek sighs.

Derek- "There's a teacher's convention that I have to attend to."

You- "For a week?"

Derek- "Yeah, different school districts are attending in different days so I have to stay until they all go."

You hum.

You- "I don't understand why a week but...I guess I don't have much say in this."

Derek sighs.

Derek- "I'm sorry (Y/N), I hate leaving you alone for such a long time."

You smile and reach over to touch his hand.

You- "I'll be okay, you know I will be."

Derek- "Yeah but still, I love you too much to leave you so suddenly."

You shrug your shoulders.

You- "I love you too, but bills have to be paid after all."

Derek nods and looks down a bit before slowly taking his hand away.
