What Happened?

Liam's POV

The crying had slowly stopped when I let them go, I sat on the bed behind Kira and Anna, my hand resting on their backs gently rubbing their backs. Lisa had stood up grabbing Kira's phone and her own phone and walked out of the room. I felt Anna's body fall back against me, her breathing was rugged, her eyes were glossy from the tears, and her cheeks were stained with her red. I wrapped my arm around her holding her as tight and as close to me as I could without hurting her. Kira soon leaned back slowly, I heard her whimper as she did, her head resting on my shoulder. Her eyes were bloodshot and glossy as well, her breathing was very uneven, her face red and stained with tears. I gently wrapped my left arm over her, resting it gently over her chest, occasionally stroking her hair out of her face.

When Lisa came back, she stood in the doorway holding her phone up at us. "I called my unit, we're dropping our other cases, this is more important. Kara, Anna, if you're willing to come in and tell us what happened, we will do everything in our power to bring him in. The phone alone is enough to bring him in, but your words can seal it." I felt Anna nod her head and Kira followed suit after her. "Ok good, Liam bring them by M.E.D, get them checked over then bring them to the district." I nodded then looked back down at my sisters, "What about Mia and Ivy?" I asked. She looked over to us and smiled, "Well these two will need someone to keep them happy. I'll bring them with me, and they'll be waiting at the district." I nodded as she left the doorway again and headed downstairs.

The crying slowly stopped as Kira leaned forward, I went to stand up handing them tissues and a jacket each, "I must tell dad something, I'm already late and he will be calling soon if I don't give him an update. I'm not going to make you tell him anything, at least not till your ready." I told them. Kira turned to face me before standing up, "Just tell dad something came up and you'll be late. You just need to take us to M.E.D and then the district. Just drop us off with Lisa and go to work, Chicago needs its best Firefighters." She smirked a bit as I laughed, I wasn't letting them out of my sight not till they were safe but again what is honestly safer than a police district? "If you don't want me to stay then I'll respect that but if that's what you want then I have every right to text and or call you throughout the day till I get home. She laughed slightly but I think she regretted it as she quickly grabbed her side.

Anna pulled herself forward, you could tell she hurt but she hid it well. I helped her up oof the bed before we headed downstairs. They both put on the shoes and the jackets I handed them, as I grabbed my keys. They both gone quiet but after a couple minutes of driving I heard Kira speak softly, "Have Dylan there..."

"You sure?" I said slightly questioning what she said. I knew her relationship had been stronger with Dylan than with Carter or I, but I just wanted to make sure that's what she really wanted. Even with the bond they had she didn't tell him what was going on, well she didn't tell me either technically. I watched her nod her head in the rear-view mirror and with that I called our brother.

Dylan's POV

We had just finished packing everything up from our last call and started to head out. I ended up having to drive because as normal Otis and Kidd wouldn't stop arguing over who gets to drive. Honestly, we were tired of listening to them fight over it, so Cassey just had me drive. We had just left the site when my phone started to ring, I saw Cassey pick up my phone for me and I looked over to him to see who it was, "It's Liam" he said as he answered the call putting it on speaker and holding it for me so I could talk.

Dylan: Hey Liam, I'm...
Liam: Dylan, I need you to meet me at M.E.D
Dylan: Wait! Why?! What happened! Are dad and Carter, ok?
Liam: Just meet me there I'll try to explain when you get there. (He then hung up before Dylan could say anything else)
Dylan: Liam!?

"He hung up." Casey said while putting my phone down on the console, picked up the radio, telling me "Hey I'm going to call the chief and have him put us out of commission. You get us to M.E.D, alright?" I nodded and quickly made my way to M.E.D, when I got there, I parked and ran inside still in full turn out gear. The rest of 81 had soon followed me, by the time I met up with Liam at the door. "What happened? Is it dad, Carter..." I started. I felt his hand on my shoulder as he shook his head then led me to a corner so we could talk.

"It's Kira and Anna..." my eyes shot wide when he said that "I don't really know anything other than they had been hurt pretty badly, and from the sounds of it, it's been going on since mom died." He paused then continued, "Aunt Lisa came by and I asked her to talk to them, apparently that worked, and well, that's really all I know. Anna has a nasty black eye with bruising around her wrists, shoulders, and neck. It looks like Kira may have a few bruised or cracked ribs. I don't know what else. They're in with the doctors now, they wanted me to wait outside." Liam was speaking softly but you could tell from his voice how angry and afraid he was.

I was shocked, like how did we miss this for so long, we were all just blind to it. I looked him dead in the eye, unlike him I had no fear, at that point all I had was pure anger, "Who did this?" He stood there and just shook his head, "I don't know. Hey, look Kira asked for you to be here and I called you for that reason, don't do anything stupid. Lisa has her team on this, they'll get him."

I turned around and walked over to where my lieutenant stood with everyone else, "Hey what happened?" Casey said followed by everyone else looking over at me in concern. I stood there still processing what Liam told me, "My sisters..." I started then looked over at Liam, "Someone hurt my sisters." Realization of what my sisters had gone through truly sunk in at that moment, my hands quickly clenched up to fists at the thought of them being hurt, when I felt a hand grip my shoulder. It was my lieutenant trying to prevent me from doing something stupid. Soon after a nurse came out, "Sanchez family" I turned around and quickly walked over to her and stood beside Liam. "So, Anna is ok, she has no major injuries, she has a couple bruised ribs but with time that will heal..." we both smiled at that, "Kira has multiple bruised ribs and one that has a hairline fracture. I will say she probably would have multiple cracked ribs if she took another beating. She seems to have sustained the brunt of whatever they got into. They both have a build up of bruising on their wrists and stomach, it will take time for both girls to heal and naturally they will be sore. They both have been given medication to help with the pain. If you would like to follow me, I can take you to them." I was glad to hear that overall, they would be ok but now I wanted to know who hurt them.

Liam started to follow the nurse when I turned to my Lieutenant, "Can I have the rest of the day off? Please." I spoke. He looked over at me and nodded, I turned back and followed Liam and the nurse. Once we were outside the room the nurse stopped and opened the door for us then left.

I was sitting on the hospital bed with Anna beside me when Dylan and Liam walked in. Dylan quickly entered the room, running to our side and hugged us, "You have smoke all over your face Dylan." I said with a smirk, he looked at me and smiled, Liam and Anna chuckled at that as Liam sat down. "Kira...what happened? How did all this happen?" Dylan asked while he pulled us into another hug. Once he let us go, I slowly summarized what all happened with Anna's help, everything except my rape, I wasn't ready for them to know, honestly, I never wanted to tell any of them what happened. Dylan's face turned with anger as he learned what was truly going on, Liam was a bit more relaxed but rightfully pissed as well. Tears had swelled in my eyes as we told them, our room growing silent for a few minutes. Dylan reached his hand out wiping the tears from my cheek, "You're both strong. We will handle this and nothing like this will happen again, ok? Don't let this guy bring you down because you are so much stronger than him." He said hugging us again.

"Does dad and Carter know?" Dylan asked us, we all shook our heads, "I'll go call them and have them meet us at the district." Liam said as he got up and walked out.
