From a very early age, Ty Lee had always admired Azula.

She was cool, decisive, and unapologetic.

If she wanted something, she would just go for it without a second thought. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind, nor show her amazing firebending abilities.

She was driven, focused, and very, very smart.

Ty lee wasn't like that. She was taught good manners, compliance, and to blend in with the crowd.

Not to mention, she always had to share everything with her seven identical sisters - her bedroom, her clothes, her toys, and of course, her parent's attention.

That's why when she befriended Azula at age six in the Royal Fire Academy for Girls, she was finally happy to have something that differentiated her from her sisters.

By chance of destiny she was the one who became the best friend of the Firelord's granddaughter.

That meant she would often go to the Royal palace on playdates with Azula and her other best friend Mai, who she also met on the Academy.

The three got along pretty well, even though Azula was always the one who took leadership and dictated what game they would play, Mai and Ty Lee didn't mind following along.

Even if this meant picking on Azula's older brother, Zuko, the same boy Mai had a crush on.

One evening, the four kids were playing in the Royal Palace's garden.

Ty Lee and Azula practiced acrobatics near the fountain, the only thing Ty Lee was better at than Azula, while Zuko showed Mai some of the red flowers from the bushes.

''Did you know? these flowers are actually very special, my mom loves botany so she told me a lot of things about them.'' Zuko told Mai.

Mai blushed really hard and Azula couldn't help but notice.

In a second she came up with an idea.

''Hey Ty Lee, wanna play a funny game?'' Azula whispered to her friend.

''Sure!'' Ty Lee said cheerfully.

''Okay, so here's how it goes; I'll act as Zuko and you'll act as Mai, got it?'' She whispered in Ty Lee's ear.

''Hehe, Okie dokie, let's start!'' The brunette replied.

''I'm sorry Mai, but we can't stay together!'' Azula said in a deeper tone of voice, dramatically personifying Zuko. '' I am a big boy now and mom said I shouldn't date such young girls!''

''Oh Zuko! My beloved, why are you doing this to me?'' Ty Lee continued, mocking the pair.

''Don't you get it? I can't go on without you Zuko! I love you!'' She said clinging to Azula's neck tragically.

''Well, if you love me that much, I guess it can't be helped!'' Azula replied.

''Hey! I am not like that! Stop it Azula!'' Zuko yelled angrily, embarrassed at the mockery of her sister.

''Ugh you two are the worst!'' Mai complained becoming completely flustered.

''Come on baby, now that I've decided to go against my mom's desire, we must escape and get married in secret! Oh, love is so painful!'' Azula continued, in an even more dramatic voice.
