XVI. Dojo

Ty Lee came out of the Dojo after another successful chi blocking training session with the youngest trainees which would soon become the new members of the Kyoshi warriors.

It had been nine months since the brunette had left the Fire Nation Capital for the Earth Kingdom with Suki and the rest of the team to train the new warriors and help around what used to be the Fire Nation colonies.

But soon after the first few months she spent on the Earth Kingdom, Ty Lee began feeling like her routine had become a little stagnant with energy, and her days began becoming stale.

Even though it was gratifying to see how her chi blocking lessons helped the warriors and she was of good use in the community, she began feeling like she wasn't connecting as much with the other girls as she used to when she first joined them.

Slowly she also started drifting away from what she thought would give her purpose in life, month by month. This only made the brunette feel more confused and a little bit isolated from the rest.

Time had been passing incredibly fast, it was astounding to think that the she hadn't seen nor heard from Azula in nine months since any type of correspondence was prohibited between citizens and the inmates of the Tower prison.

Not that it had mattered, Azula hadn't left Ty Lee's heart.

Even after going through so much grief after they last said goodbye, whenever Ty Lee spent time alone, Azula still occupied her thoughts.

How could she fall out of love? No one had ever taught her how.

She had to endure the longing of loving with all her heart, yet it not being reciprocated, and it hadn't been easy at all.

Ty Lee had kept monthly correspondence with Mai, but she held no news from the Princess either since she had never gone to see Azula.

Zuko had been the only one who had visited the Princess, but to Ty Lee's bad luck, he and Mai had called it quits as the responsibilities of being Firelord were too many for Zuko to carry and also have time for a relationship, so she couldn't get her information through him either.

And so, the brunette had to blindly trust the Universe and keep walking her path even though it was filled with so much heartache.

One afternoon, during her day off, Ty Lee decided to take a walk around the village to hopefully entertain herself since she couldn't shake her feeling of drifting in a meaningless void.

She made her way from the Kyoshi Dojo's dormitories up the hill towards the village's square.

As she walked through the square, she couldn't help but notice a couple that walked hand in hand in front of her.

They both suddenly laughed about something and the guy put his hand over the girl and she held him as well.

Their love was palpable, and the brunette suddenly felt a strong tug in her heart after looking at them.

Ty lee quickly turned around and hid behind a house when tears began unwillingly rolling down her cheeks.

It's like couldn't avoid the pain of seeing that couple so in love and in the glory of being out and about, enjoying of their romance together, while she was feeling so starved of it.

Embarrassed that someone would see her, she decided to head out of the village and towards the small koi fish pond across the hill, where she would usually go seek for some solitude.
