09 || Girlfriend

"Ah, son, you're back. Have you bought the sugar?"

I turned around to see my father, welcoming me back home.

Oh shit- I forgot to buy sugar, And Rui's still beside me. I'll just come up with an excuse... yeah...

"Uh- Well..."

My father looked Rui in the eye, and said something... quite unexpected.

"Oh, is this your girlfriend? No wonder you didn't bother getting the sugar."

Rui blushed, "G-Girlfriend??"

Father asked us again, "This is your girlfriend, right? Unauthorized personnel may not enter the castle gates, unless they have such a standing as the prince's girlfriend."

As I stood speechless, unknowing on what to say, Rui then budged in.

"Yes, sir, I am Tsukasa-kun's 'girlfriend'. I'm so sorry to bother you both on such a fine evening... If you want, I'll be heading off now." Rui's tone of voice changed so drastically even I would be convinced that he's a woman, let alone my girlfriend. What could make my father think he's a girl though? Could it be his face... or maybe his odd haircut?

My father laughed. "No, you can stay. I'd like to have a chat with you, erm... what was your name?"

Rui looked at me and shrugged, so I blurted out "Her name is... Riko!"

Father smiled at Rui, "Alright then, 'Riko.' welcome to the family."

He then shook hands with Rui and left us alone for awhile.

Rui sighed, "Seriously? Riko? That sounds nothing like my real name..."

"Well, you did pressure me to think of one on the spot!"

"I could've thought of a better one." Rui smirked.

I then replied, "Well then for now you're Riko. Welcome to the family."

I took Rui's hand and walked into the main hall of the castle, flustered. I decided that I would show him around the castle. Then we bumped into Toya.

Toya walked up to me and waved, "His majesty told me that you're here with your girlfriend."

I decided that I would tell Toya the truth. After all, he is loyal and trusted.

"Well, actually... the 'girlfriend' father thinks I have is Rui over here. I don't get how he managed to actually believe that Rui is a girl, but now he thinks that he's 'Riko', my girlfriend."

Toya looked at me in surprise. "A-and you expect me to keep this a secret??"

I looked at Toya and frowned. "Yes, please do."

I then walked with Rui away from Toya, and into my bedroom.

Rui looked around, delighted. "Wow... such a beautiful bed! These curtains and magnificent! The quality of this wood is to die for~ Oh and the floorboards are so sturdy, the door doesn't even creak not the slightest!"

I sat down on my bed and watched Rui wonder around in his happy place. After that, Rui then sat down next to me, and dragged me down with him. Next thing you know, We were cuddling on top of the soft mattress, Rui hugging me around my waist.

"Ouch..." My body still is sore from before.

"Oh, sorry Tsukasa-kun. Did I startle you?" Rui giggled.

He then gave me a soft kiss on my forehead. I looked at him and smiled, soon falling asleep in his arms. Rui took this time to think about err... stuff... and later he fell asleep as well.

Little did we know, during our little nap, Toya was peeking through the door and watching.

He sighed to himself, "I'm truly glad Tsukasa-senpai has found a partner. I wonder about myself though... will I ever find someone who truly loves me?"

Toya then sat down, and fell asleep, right outside the door. It was a quite night, everybody sound asleep. It was peaceful in the castle, and also warm, being in Rui's arms. What a wonderful end to the day.

I'm glad to have such amazing people in my life.
