Musa finally walked to a small grave site with flowers, incense, fruits, and joss paper in a basket. She finally had a day when she could return to melody to see her mother. A cherry tree bloomed behind the gravestone. Engraved in the stone were Melidoan characters spelling out the name Yaling. Musa snapped a match, burning the joss paper, “Hey mom, it’s been a long time no see.” Musa kneeled next to her mother’s grave, adding new incense to the top of the grave. The fairy of music let herself be in the moment, speaking to her mother as if she was alive. “Ma, how did you first have the courage to sing on stage? You were the best Opera singer in melody. I’m sure you found a way to get over whatever anxiety you had.” Musa chuckled. “You know, I am really nervous about singing in front of all those people. They are all expecting me to have the best of the best.” Musa set down her final offerings from her basket, ordering them neatly. “But, every note I sing, every lyric I write, is for you, ma. I hope I can make you proud.”

Korra set down a plate of cookies and brownies on the counter. Finally, Korra and Wan had the kitchen all to themselves. Now, she needed to find Taro to make Moon and fire cakes for Wan. Korra could drop anything in her hands; Wan caught it for her. Tonight’s consort was going to be Korra’s biggest sale. She was making Magix popular snacks, to top it off, Elementian snacks. Especially Wan’s favorite, a sweet and spicy Fire mochi ice cream. Mooncakes were another staple filled with sweet potato and Turo.

“Wan can you pass rice powder; I’m going to start the Mochi.” Baking was one of the things that made Korra forget about any issues she had with Bloom. Wan sniffed the brownies from the other side of the kitchen, “I missed your baking.”

“If I baked every day for you, you’ll get a cavity. “

“Can I have one brownie?” Wan clasped his hand together. His copper eyes lit up while he poked his lips out.

“Spirits, you’re worse than Stella.” Korra quipped. “After you help me, you get five.” She leaned in close to kiss Wan’s cheek. The male Avatar was startled, his face turning hot red. Korra stepped back, realizing what she had done, “Wan- I.” Korra couldn’t breathe nor finish her sentence. Did she kiss Wan on the cheek? It felt so natural and in the moment. She forgot they weren’t even dating.

“No, No, You’re fine.” Wan creased the cheek Korra kissed. Unconsciously partied his lips. He visibly flushed and coughed, “Let's keep working, hum?”

Aisha moved her body, practicing at the amphitheater center while Musa was singing. “One, two, three, four.” Aisha snapped her fingers, then moved her hips. A rush of heat and energy spread all over her body. She didn’t feel restricted, like she was little on Andros. Aisha had to be proper and restrained. Speak when you are spoken to, be seen but not heard. Aisha loved her parents, but their traditionalist ideals restrained her from being her true self to moving freely like water instead of steady like earth. Here she was now, dancing with whatever passions she saw fit. Being seen and will be heard. She imaged a crowd of people, watching her dance, cheering her own.

Musa put away her saxophone in her case and finished with her practice for today. Bloom entered the Amphitheater. Her eyes hard, “Have you guys seen Wan?”

Stella flipped her hair, “Why he’s with Korra, of course. She’s in the kitchen baking for the concert tonight; she’s going to be selling baked goods. Griselda gave her permission.” Stella’s lips slightly parted as she slowly realized what was going on just from Bloom’s eyes growing tight, “Whatever, have fun.” The fairy of the dragon flame jaw set as she stormed off. Since Avalon came into the picture, her connection with Nagendra grew fainter. Not that Bloom noticed that her magic was growing weaker each day she spent in his office hours.
