Hispanic James is a must

~

"Padfoot wake-up!" James whined shaking Sirius.

"Remus, leave me the hell alone unless it's for a bloody snog," Sirius grumbled, pulling the blanket closer.

James blinked pulling away, "Have you two been doing that a lot?"

Sirius groaned, "Definitely not Moony. Prongs leave me alone."

"We have a game!"

"In like an hour!"

"Exactly. We have an hour to practice."

"James we're going to win. Now screw off."

James huffed, "Have you at least seen Regulus?"

"No, and this is getting weird. If he's bothering you just kick him in the nuts."

Peter chuckled from his bed, "I don't think you want James anywhere near your brother's nuts."

"What?" Sirius sighed.

James shook his head, "He's joking. I- I'm going to get breakfast. I'll see you at the pitch." He whispered hurrying out.

He spent the next fifteen minutes sitting in the Great Hall poking his food with a fork, too nauseous to eat anything.

Red hair brushed against his arm and he tried his best to smile as he turned to face her, "Hey."

"I have never once seen you so nervous over a Quidditch match." Lily sighed shaking her head, "What's gotten into you?"

"Did you know I spent days working with Regulus to get good at being a seeker?" James asked with a gulp, "Absolute days and- and he doesn't even believe in me enough to cheer for the Gryffindor team for once in his life. Sirius will have fun and find it hilarious if I can't catch the snitch and Remus just doesn't care about quidditch. Marlene will be disappointed we lost even if she's trying to be all proud and I don't think Regulus would ever talk to me again for wasting his time."

Lily frowned, "Wait, James honey, Marlene isn't going to be disappointed in you if you lose. And if Regulus stops talking to you, that's his loss. Although, if you ask me, I don't think he will. I believe in you. You'll win. And I'm always right."

He smiled letting out some version of a laugh.

She grinned, "See? You'll be just fine."

"Thank you, Lily."

"Of course. Now go get ready or you'll be late and Sirius will be the one freaking out."

James chuckled standing up and pressing a quick kiss to the top of her head. He went to run away but his feet wouldn't move, "... That wasn't like me hitting on you or anything for the record."

Lily laughed, "James, Marlene is one of my best friends. I've seen you kiss her head enough to know how you meant it."

"No I- I know I just meant that like- I understand you're gay, or well, you wouldn't be gay you're not a guy... I'm going to go now because I'm confusing myself."

"Please."

He nodded hurrying out.

Lily sighed turning back towards the table to eat, Mary sitting across from her with a raised eyebrow, "What?"

"What's going on with Potter?" Mary asked.

Lily rolled her eyes, "Literally nothing. We're friends."
