*Present time*

"He texted me back." Tori said as she looked shocked at her phone, a small smile then appearing on her face.

"Who?" Maya asked as she was doing some homework from University.

"What do you mean who?! Yoongi!" Tori was now way too excited and when Maya understood what was happening, she stoped what she was doing and made her way to Tori's desk.

"What did he say?" She asked, and then Tori showed her the text.

I'm so glad you decided to write. I miss you Tori, how have you been?

"Awww Yoongi is still so sweet to you." Maya said as she handed back the phone to Tori.

"I know, I'm shocked he was so chill about this." Maya saw that she began to write back but she didn't really feel like she should asks what Tori was writing.

After this, she wasn't sure if she should intervene.

So, Maya decided to continue to do her homework, but if she was being honest, she couldn't concentrate anymore.

"What? Aren't you happy?" Tori asked when she noticed that Maya was way too silent.

"Of course I am." Maya said without looking at her. She took out her own phone and saw she had a DM from Hoseok.

Oh now he decides to write.

Maya, I'm concerned for you. Are you okay?

Hey, I'm fine. Don't worry about it.

Simple and hopefully convincing. Maya couldn't stop Namjoon's voice out of her head.

I saw that Tori texted Yoongi. Why didn't you text me?

I uh don't have really anything to say to you.

'I hope I'm not being mean to him. I don't want to hurt his feelings.' Maya thought but of course Hobi couldn't stay with just that.

After 6 years, and 8 months you have nothing to say to me?

Maya didn't know what to say, so she stopped texting him. Her heart was beating so fast, like that one time that she saw Jungkook with the new girlfriend. She didn't understand how this connected with that moment, but she knew it was the same stressed feeling.

"Okay, I'm gonna give you your time, but you need to stop lying to me." Tori said as she saw how Maya was beginning to turn off her phone.

Maya didn't say anything and began to pack her things, "Wait, where are you going?"

"I'm- I'm gonna go to my house. I'll text you later." Maya said as she couldn't help but feel her heart beat against her chest, making her breathing incredibly fast.

"Maya, Maya stop." Tori said as she stoped her from packing her computer. Maya stopped, but that doesn't mean that her heartbeat did. "Are you having a panic attack?" Not really knowing the answer, Maya shook her head 'no', "I think you are."

After Tori said that, she put her hands on Maya's cheeks, turning her head around so she would look at her. "I've had them before, you need to calm down." Tori paused when she saw that Maya had her eyes closed, "Follow my breathe."

Maya did and after a few minutes, Maya was fine again. "H-How did you know what to do?"

"Have you had this before? Why didn't you tell me?"

"I haven't had one like this exactly. I always managed to ignored it-"

"You can never ignore it Maya. You need to accept it first so then you can get help."

Maya stayed silent for a few moments, still trying to take deep breaths. "Do you want to tell me what happened?"

"Hoseok- he texted me. He knew you texted Yoongi and didn't understand why I didn't text him."

Tori looked at her surprised, "Why- why didn't you texted him?"

"You know why..." Maya tried but she knew she was lying to Tori and to herself.

"I don't know why and for some reason, I feel like this was one of the many lies you've told me since you've come here."

Maya took a deep breathe as she felt her throat closing up, her eyes watering. "I-I feel like I- like I don't deserve them."

Tori looked at Maya like she was crazy this time, and she even looked angry. "Why? Why would you think you don't deserve them?"

"I just don't-"

"Oh don't give me that crap Maya, stop lying to me." Tori stood up from the chair and came closer to Maya, but Maya stood up this time too, and backed away.

"Maybe, just maybe, I separated from them for a reason and that reason is because I just- maybe I'm not good for them. Maybe they deserve better than me." Maya said and tears began to stream down her face. "Maybe all these people I've lost over the years are gone because I don't deserve to be with anyone. I don't bring joy, I don't bring anything important to the people closest to me. You don't deserve me. You deserve someone way better than me."

"Maya, stop putting yourself down. You know I love you-"

"YOU SHOULDN'T!" Maya yelled and although she didn't mean too, Tori's eyes began to water. "YOU SHOULDN'T LOVE ME! I'VE DONE NOTHING GOOD TO YOU!"

"YES YOU HAVE-"

"NOW YOU NEED TO STOP LYING TO ME!" Maya said this time, as she took her things.

"Wait, Maya-"

"Stop. Stop trying to make me feel better when we both know the truth. All I bring in your life is nothing but stress and I keep lying to you, which just means that I really truly shouldn't be your friend." Maya finally let everything out, everything she's been feeling since what feels like forever. It's time she makes what she is feeling come true.

She was opening the door of her best friends house, with tears streaming down her face. She shouldn't look back, but she did and she saw that Tori was not following her. She wasn't telling her this time to stop.

That's when she knew this is what she had to do.
