"I was a pawn in their game. Well, what I like about chess is that sometimes pawns kill a king."

Mishti Maheshwari was a normal girl like us all. But time, fate, circumstances changed her into something from which she could never find a return. Even after finding her man, she couldn't suppress the feeling that she was empty. But that was not the case when she held Aisha for the first time.
Her daughter.
When Ramya named her Aisha, she thought it was just another noun. But when the little one smiled at her, then did she realise the meaning of her name.
Life.
Aisha was her life, and she never would have even let a single scratch appear on her. But she wasn't given the choice to protect her with all the chaos that was going on. Even in death, the only question that ringed in Mishti's mind was Aisha's safety. The empire that she was keeping away from Aisha would eventually call to her.
That was the Shadow's nightmare.
2047
Aisha's POV
I sit in the main hall of the palace and stare at all faces. All of them except two held concern, fear and dread on them. You can guess who's the odd one out. Yes, it's Rohit. He has gotten used to this that all of the drama doesn't even affect him anymore.
The second one is ofcourse Mahira. She's been waiting for this moment according to my estimation. So I start the explanation without any delay.
"You're not going to do anything Aisha." Kukk declares releasing a long sigh. She's frustrated I get it. But she has no right to decide about the empire.
"Let's talk later shall we?" I ask her and she nods nonetheless.
"So, a year ago, that is in 2046, my betallion, with the Chennai and Rajasthan regiment, along with BSF commandos, NIA and CBI agents, were sent to Baluchistan where terrorists had held some of our Indian and Afghanistan civilians hostage. We had to get them out somehow." I say and jump down from the table I was sitting on.
"Our general's orders was a rescue mission. We didn't know it was going to turn to a shoot and kill." I sigh and close my eyes, the horrors of the scene returning infront of my eyes. Rohit holds my hand.
"I never knew kids were involved. When our major was taken down, general gave me the power to give orders. So I did ask them to strike on the building." I say gritting my teeth.
"I couldn't save that kid. She was crying for her mother and I told I'd save her but then-"
"Alright it's enough." Arya comes near me and gives me a hug. He pats my head as I take deep long breaths.
"No, you need to know why we had to do what we did. After all the destruction, general asked me to check whether there was anyone related to biochem or particularly chemistry departments of any organisation. I didn't know the reason then." I complete.
"Rashid was there." Mahira counterparts.
"He was developing some sort of chemical for these Black Force dogs and that's why, we were sent to eliminate them." She continues.
"So that CBI agent was you?" Rohit questions. Mahira just nods.
"I lost my partner there. If your wife hadn't ordered the strike, we could've done something." She spats as I close my eyes.
"Mahira just shut up! You know how much it took for her to open up?" Kiara yells at her as Mahira scoffs. Advaith held her back from lashing out anymore.
"Here comes the great saviour of the princess." Mahira mocks.
"So how did CBI know that Rashid was there?" Kundan aunty questions. Well, she's the only intelligent person in the room then.
