"Men don't fear the sword. They fear the one who wields it."

The healers stared at the body wearily. They had to do something before it got too serious. All the treatment, medicines, and the prayers had been offered. Now, they had to wait in patience for the person to rise from the dead. The problem was, the patient wasn't responding to any of their efforts.

And they didn't know what would be the consequences if the patient didn't make it out.

Adyant's POV

"Are you sure?" Dad questions me.
"Positive. We need to be alert to any of the threat calls or demands. The tails left on the board members by Aisha a month ago, has given a good result." I ponder, looking at my laptop.
"What do you think of doing with her?" I look at dad now.
"Pardon?" The most British response ever leaves my mouth as dad sighs.

"You aren't partnering up with her, are you?" He asks uncertainty laced in his voice.
"She offered, dad." I scoff.
"And you cannot take it!" He yells.
"What do you want, dad?" I yell back.
"Her to be left out of this mess. She needs to go back to where she was living, and live a life. That's what your mum and I wanted Adyant. That is why you're here." He reminds my life agenda.

"What are you expecting? Should I plan a grand farewell and give a teary send off to her whole gang from here?" I mock. He tries to answer but I cut his words.
"What if she doesn't want to go, dad? Should I drag her out of the building and push her on the lane?" I question, completely irritated.
"I'll talk to her. But don't give her any false expectations about that city or that gold." Dad sighs.

"News alert, she already knows why we're here. But she has no idea what we are going to do. That's a bonus." I type my response to the mail while speaking.
"Great. Just keep your mouth shut infront of her from now on." He grumbles and gets up to leave.
"Why did you hire him, dad?" My question throws him off guard.
"What are you blabbering?" Dad narrows his eyes at me.
"Nothing." I sigh and he leaves before I get to ask him again.

I look at my laptop, and the mail. It had to be done way too sooner. Atleast I would be less bothered by idiots like my father, for instance. He has no idea how much mistakes he has done. He couldn't be more careful in his actions. Dad has been a total snob because he wants to let us know, that he's a genius because of the work he's doing. But he's not. He's causing more disastrous events to unfold.

Luckily, Aisha knows about these improvements because I had to let her in, in the plan I was making. And that doesn't make us partners. We are working together for a single cause. But it does make me and Mahira partners, which irks me. Speak of the devil. She arrives with a black coffee and sits infront of me.

"Are you done swirling with my sword?" I grumble.

"I just took it for practice, you idiot. Don't sulk like you were cheated on by your wife." She remarks.
"That mouth." I say totally annoyed.
"Yeah. Does wonderful talks." She winks.
"Ugh! Don't." I make a disgusting face, though I enjoy the bickering. A good distraction.

"By the way, what about our plan?" She becomes serious.
"I SAID it will proceed once I acquire the throne." I emphasise.
"Which you will ascend. But when?" Mahira points out.
"Time, Ms.Sharma. Time will tell." I smirk.
"Whatever. I can't pretend anymore that I have a master plan of destroying your family infront of Aisha." She grumbles. That was our plan actually. To make everyone think that Mahira is the villain, while I carry on with my work.
