After another productive day of classes professors are packing their desks, eager to finally experience a restful weekend. Since the public is still under the impression that Endeavor defeated the Hero Killer, U.A. has steered clear of criticism from the press. The Commission has declared victory, however, this celebration is only a short-term distraction. As for the students involved, punishment was decided against in order to keep their secret from spreading to classmates and the entirety of campus.
Twirling his bundle of keys around his finger, the hero hums a little tune. He is the final one to leave the lounge, closing the door then facing right to an empty hallway. A car awaits for him outside the entrance gate.
"Ah- All Might!" Midoriya dashes up the hall with urgency.
"Young Midoriya?" He whips around, overcome with worry, "What's-"
"I can't find my notebook. I think I left it in your office."
Taking a moment to absorb this response, All Might gratefully dismisses all the worse outcomes that came to mind in previous moments. "I'm sorry, but I really don't have the time to help you search-"
"That's okay! May I go in and look?"
"Well.." Peering down to his wristwatch, "Fine, but please be quick."
"Thank you!"
Midoriya doesn't hesitate to enter the lounge, trailing by the line of cubicles until he finds All Might's desk. Gaze meeting a blank computer screen, he leans over the chair to enter the password. Lying to his idol felt wrong. Everything about this felt wrong, but he is already at the point of no return. Getting caught in the act now would result in expulsion. With a sigh, Midoriya blocks out the negative thoughts to the best of his ability. His time here is limited. There's no more room for spiraling into the possibilities. Failure to pull this off leads to another day where he is without answers.
Pulling up the university site, he is asked to renter a username and password. Three incorrect attempts, and the account will be locked down. Luckily, All Might keeps a pocket-sized journal to write down this information. Issue is that Midoriya has to find it. Drawers are full, but with nothing that he needs. Another option is to just guess, but he isn't a tech genius or hacker - that's more Hatsume and Kaminari's thing. Rolling out the desk chair, he takes a seat and places both hands on the keyboard.
First attempt, incorrect.
Second attempt, incorrect.
Eyes frantically wander over the desktop in hopes to find any sort of clue. Considering All Might has already cleaned up, there isn't much left to see. Sticky notes, pens, and a clear cylinder with a big, blue label.
'Seaweed strips?'
He reaches for the container, tilting it in his grasp. A single, hard object from inside hits the lid.
Outside the lounge, All Might is left to watch the clock. At this point he should already be on the road, but he is torn. If another faculty member were to come by while Midoriya is searching, he would be in unaffordable trouble. He thought about going in. He thought about just leaving. The Commission President and public are waiting for him to make an entrance and comment on recent events.
'What is taking so long?'
Hand on the door handle, the hero is unexpectedly pulled forward. Retracting to stand straight again, he is greeted by a big fake smile.
"Found it!" Midoriya announces and then weaves around his mentor, "Thanks again, have a good night!"
Notebook in his grip, phone in his pocket, the student rushes back down the hall. He doesn't dare turn around, barreling toward the dorms with no time to waste. Entering the common area, he slips off his sneakers and avoids conversation beyond brief greetings from his classmates. With an elevator trip up to the boy's floor, he comes to a stop in front of Bakugo's door.
