Sun casting bright rays through the skylights and the Sakura starting to blossom, a radiant spring is underway. U.A. campus's cafeteria is slammed by the lunch rush.
"Tamaki!"
"Over here!"
Two third year students call for their friend and classmate, waving and smiling to catch his attention to their table.
"You don't have to shout. I'm right here." Amajiki takes a seat, setting down his bento box.
Twisting the cap back onto her lip-gloss, "Anyway, as I was saying. Mt. Lady def has work done. I can tell.", Hado states in a haughty manner.
Chewing, "How can you tell?", Togata asks.
"Her high school picture was leaked this morning.", she whips out her phone, "Oh my god, look. See?"
"No."
"Her nose! Her cheekbones! Either she has indestructible contour skills or it's surgery. You can't tell me that's the same person."
"Oh.", Togata swallows, "Tamaki, I heard you got paired with the new recruits last week. How did that go?"
Reflecting on the events of last Friday, Amajiki's expression subtly falls into a state of distress. The interns showed up early to take advantage of the agency's gym before they were scheduled for patrol. Amajiki watched in horror as Kirishima took a shot of preworkout. Nothing but pure powder. Tetsu-Tetsu followed suit. Next, the two jumped for stretches then gym equipment.
"Yo, Amajiki! How do I- oh, never mind I got it!", Kirishima reassures when the wire snaps off the pulley, "Don't got it, eheh."
On patrol, Tetsu-Tetsu flexes his arms, "When do we get to fight some bad guys?! I'm so pumped! GRAHH!"
Later in the locker room, Kirishima heads for the showers with just a towel wrapped around his hips. He happens to bump into Amajiki in the process, "Sorry, dude. Didn't see you there."
"It was.. a lot."
"At least you got to look at some nice rippling abs all day.", Hado sighs, "Working with some hot, dumb boys sounds like my dream shift, but Ryukyu put me with that first year, Ashido, for patrol."
"Oh, the pink girl that secretes acid?" Togata recalls seeing the first-year student before.
Hado leans back in her seat, "Yeah, I'm don't think she likes me."
"Why's that?"
"She's just so rude and standoffish. Whenever I ask her a question, she acts all offended like I said something wrong."
"Talking while on patrol isn't everyone's cup of tea." Amajiki consoles.
"He's right! Maybe she isn't as social as you are. Give it time. I'm sure she'll warm up to you." Togata encourages.
Amajiki's phone buzzes, alerting him to check the notification. Immediately he starts to type a response. His phone buzzes again and again. A small grin curls his lips, eyes glued to the screen as the sweet messages go back and forth. Of course, his friends notice this shift in behavior.
"Whoa, someone's popular." Togata teases.
"Is it your sister?" Hado asks.
"Oh, uh- no."
The two look at one another with smug grins, cooing.
Amajiki sighs, a light blush dusting the apples of his cheeks. He leans forward in his seat. His head drops, facing the tabletop, "Don't freak out, but I think I like someone."
