|| Max's POV ||
  Max grumpily gazed at the math book in front of her. Even though she hated all subjects school forced her to study, math was her least favorite. All the numbers mixed with letters and symbols only confused her. She was currently sitting in the library, trying to figure out a way to avoid doing her homework.
  "Hey MadMax." A voice asked from beside her.
  "Hey Stalker." Max answered Lucas, not bothering to turn around. Lucas sat in the empty chair next to her and gazed at Max's obviously unhappy face.
  "Did you do the homework yet?" He asked, glancing at the unopened math book.
  "Nope, which ones are assigned?" Max realized Lucas was in her Math class, so he'd know what Max's homework was, and Max knew he'd make sure she did it.
  "One through forty." Lucas said nonchalantly. Max groaned irritatedly while Lucas just chuckled. "Do I have to?"
  "Yes, and it's alright, I'll help you."
  "Oh what would I do without you?" Max asked sarcastically, pulling open the large book. Looking at the many problems scatters on the pages gave Max a headache. "Ughhh, can't I just copy yours? It'd be sooo much easier." Max drug out her words, dramatically tossing her head back.
  "No, you need to do it on your own!" Lucas laughed louder, adding with a smile, "Plus, math is fun!"
  "For you maybe." Max rolled her eyes.
  "Come on, let's just do number one. It's easy, see? Four fifths times five sixths." He pointed to the fractions and said it like it was simple.
  "Seriously?"
  "Yes seriously."
  "Ughh, fine." Max grabbed her pencil and paper and wrote down a vague guess she had about the answer. Once she finished she looked up at Lucas who was grinning.
  "That's right!"
  "Wait, really? I was just guessing." Lucas scoffed and pointed to the next problem.
  "Now do this one."
  Max and Lucas sat together for the next hour doing math together. Max complained a few more times while Lucas just urged her on. It went relatively fast, considering it was math, and somehow Lucas found a way to make it enjoyable. It Max had to admit, doing math with Lucas made it a little more bearable.
  a/n: lmao i had this idea during math and I thought it'd be cute. Ik it's really short, but I plan on posting again this week so that should make up for it. Also, ik this chapters title is kinda bad, I'll figure out a better one later. Thanks again!
