Eliza waited in her room

Ben, he loved her like he loved no one
The way she laughed and held a smoking gun
The way she always said "What's done is done"

And he is not the only one

Max and Lucas are happy. Very happy, you could say. They fight a lot, mostly on Max's accord since her hothead was ironically matches her fiery hair.

They weren't into pda, unless to purposely make mike grossed out while telling him how he and El look while together. It always earns a laugh out of Will, which is a win for Max any day.

Max and Lucas, as well as the rest of the party, are out on the highest point in Hawkins one late summer night, messing around. At one point Max tackled Lucas completely to the ground, winning a cheer from both Mike and El.

The love the couple felt for each other couldn't be more like the fairytales.

But not all is as it seems.

Because while Lucas loves Max, he is not the only one.

Dustin watches from afar, his eyes intently lost in adoration for the redhead. There isn't a day that's gone by where he wonders what might have happened if he'd been the one to ask Max for a dance that night of the Snowball.

But he didn't, and now he is plagued with the curse of friendship, which to some might seem like a good compromise. But to him? It is the bane of his existence.

But how could he not feel happy for his best friend and his girlfriend?

So he is content. That is what he tells himself when he wakes up, when he goes to sleep, and about a million times during the day. Anything to ease the ache his heart feels upon seeing Max's striking beauty.
