|| Lucas's POV ||
"I'm serious Maxie, don't come over. I don't want you to get sick." Lucas sighed as he spoke to Max on his supercom.
"Do you seriously think I'm scared of getting sick?" Lucas could basically see Max's eye roll from the tone of her voice.
"Please Max, just stay home." Lucas pleaded, letting out a raspy fit of coughs.
"Oh my god." Lucas heard Max groan, then static. Well, I think she got the message. He thought to himself, feeling relieved.
He had come down with some flu that kept him bound in bed. To his misfortune, his mother and father had went on vacation for a few days and left him with Erica; who he was sure not to receive pity from.

Lucas groaned, rolling over on his bed. He felt like shit. His head was pounding, and he felt like he was repeatedly being kicked in the gut.
Light poured in from his window and he desperately wanted to close the blinds.
Groggily, Lucas tried to stand up and immediately fell back onto the floor.
"Woah woah woah, where do you think your going?" A familiar voice rang out in Lucas's head. Lucas could almost recognize the voice, but it sounded weird and distorted.
"Wh-who..are-e.."
"Shhh, it's okay. Let's just get back up here." Lucas felt someone lift him up and back onto his bed, where he promptly passed out after vaguely seeing the blinds close.
———
Lucas blinked his eyes open, adjusting to the dim lighting of his room.
"Have a nice nap, Stalker?" Someone asked from inside his bathroom.
"Max," he groaned softly, "I told you not to come."
"Come on you didn't really think you could keep me away!" Max emerged from the bathroom, a mischievous look plastered on her face. "I couldn't stand the thought of my poor Luke-y bear sick all alone."
She walked closer, sitting on the side of Lucas's bed. She smiled at him, her mischievous expression soon returning.
"For today, I am your nurse." She declared, "Now, do you need anything? Food? Water? Is it too bright? Not bright enough?" She drowned on and on, making Lucas smile for the first time that day.
"I'm fine, Max. I'm all good." Max's gaze softened, "Okay." She pulled the blanket back and attempted to crawl in next to Lucas. Lucas resisted.
"Your gonna get sick!" He whined, attempting to push her away.
"I don't care, now move over."
Lucas eventually accepted that there was no way he could get Max to leave.
They held each other close, warmed by each other. Max planted a love filled kiss on Lucas's lips, which Lucas just accepted.
"I'm still mad that your here."
"I know."
