Elmax = Life
|| Max's POV ||
"I see them." El said, sitting still as a statue on the floor my Max's room, back up against the bed. Static played from Max's radio, somewhat drowning out El's words.

"Nice El, that's—" Max looked at the yellow clock on her wall. "40 seconds faster than last time!" Max clapped her hands together in congratulations, winning a smile from El. "What are they doing?" Max leaned forward, her hands pressing into her criss-crossed knees.

"They're. . ." El let out a breath, pausing, as if she's unsure. "I don't know what they're doing." Max raised an eyebrow.

"Describe it. Where are they?"

"They are in Lucas's house, his basement? Mike and Lucas are at a blue table. . hitting a white ball with flat things," El tilted her head, probably not consciously. Max smirked, nodding to herself.

"Ping Pong. They're playing Ping Pong."

"P-Ping Pong?" El mispronounced the word, but Max ignored it.

"I'll explain it later. What are they saying?"

"Uhm. Mike is saying that he wants to go on a date with me, but doesn't know where to take me." El wore a cheesy smile so infectious Max had to join in. "And Lucas says he has the perfect place that he's going take you, and he's not telling Mike." Butterflies fluttered through Max's stomach.

  "Okay. ." Max was thankful El has a blindfold on and couldn't see the huge smile on Max's lips. "Where's he gonna take me?"

  "Uh. . Mikes trying to make him say where." There was silence for a few moments. "The arcade he says." El listened to them for a few more moments. "Mike says that's lame."

  The arcade?? That's not really what I had in mind as perfect, but I would like to beat another of Dustin's high scores sooo

  "Wait." El said, her lips slightly parted as listened to Mike and Lucas. "Oh." El said finally, smirking. She pulled off the blindfold. rubbing away her bloody nose.

  "What?? What happened??" Max leaned forward, desperate to know what Lucas's was planning.

  El shook her head, tucking a strand of her brown hair behind her ear. "He said it's a secret." Max groaned loudly, dramatically flopping onto the floor, a hand placed on her forehead.

  "Come on, El! Help a girl out. What if he's planning to break up with me??" Max knew that was the last thing Lucas was planning to do, but it seemed to convince El.

  "Well. .All i'm going to tell you is that he's going to take you to the arcade at 8 tomorrow night, and he said it was going to be 'a night to remember'" El shrugged, standing up and flopping on Max's bed.

"A night to remember?" Max raised an eyebrow and smirked, "That's not ominous at all." The girls looked at each other and burst out laughing.

"God, Lucas was never very poetic, was he?" Max clutched her stomach, trying to breathe through the laughing fits.

"No." El said through her giggles, laughing so hard tears welled in her eyes.

The girls slowly stopped laughing, trying to keep it down since Billy was in the room next door. But once they looked at each other again, they toppled over laughing again.
