Chapter fourteen

The rest of the day went normal...as normal as it can be. On my way to cheer practice, I got a call from I dad saying I should be home as soon as possible.

This won't be good.

I rushed home as fast as I can after putting my co captain in charge of cheer practice. My dad was already sitted on the couch but stood up and rushed to me as soon as he saw I was home. He grabbed my arm...just as Blake had done earlier causing me to wince in pain.

"What's this I'm hearing about you!" He yelled

"I don't know...what you're talking..." I choked out unable to feel my arm.

"You're seeing another boy! Isn't that right?!" I exclaimed tightening his grip.

"Dad... please you're hurting me"

"Answer me" He says lowering the tone of his causing fear to grip my body. I closed my eyes as I was already tearing up.

"No. I'm not. He...is just my project...p... partner" I sobbed

"Levi?" He asked already going straight to the point.

"I'm not seeing Levi. Pl...please dad"

"Then who is he?!" He ask pushing me to a wall. "Are you trying to ruin me, girl? Answer me!" He yelled

"He's just a friend, dad. Please don't hurt me" I say covering my face with my hands. I was full on spilling the Niagra falls from my eyes by now.

"Room. Now." He says making me run to my room locking the door and crying into my pillow.

Dad has always been like this. Violent and aggressive. He only thinks about his business and earnings. Every other thing is just liability. I wish my mum was still alive. Perhaps we could've run away together...but she left without me. I miss her. I miss Emilia...I miss...Levi.

I quickly freshen up to wait for Jeremy. He arrives early and thankfully, dad had already gone out.

"H...hey Aurelia" he says smiling

"Hello Jeremy. Come in" I say ushering him in.

"Do you need anything?"

"Uh...no. I'm fine. Do you need anything. I m... mean it's your house so..."

"I'm good" I say stopping his rambling.

I take him to my room to start the project. I couldn't help but wish it was Levi here instead of Jeremy.

I wonder what he's doing now.

Levi

I arrive at Emilia's house. It was huge. I knock on the door and it opens to reveal a middle aged woman brown hair dressed in a nurse's uniform.

"Hello dear, you must Levi. I'm Danielle, Emilia's mother." She says, smiling politely.

"Good evening ma'am. It's nice to meet you" I say shaking her hand.

She ushered me in and made me sit on the couch while she gets Emilia.

"Lee" Emilia says coming down the stairs with her mum. She looks pretty as usual but I couldn't help but think about Aurelia. I wonder how she is.

"Hi, Emilia"

"Ok my shift starts in thirty minutes. Take care of yourself hun. Levi, if anything happens to her I'll track you down and end you"  Danielle said

"Good bye Mom" Emilia says kissing her mother's cheek.

Cute.

"Ok Lee let's get to work." She tells me and pulls me up to her room.

We were able to finish the story line of our work remaining the acting bit. Emilia decided to call it a day and I set to go home. She decided to walk me to her door and here we are...staring.

What do you say in times like this?

"Take care of yourself, Lee" she says while rubbing my arm

"I will" I say and turn to leave but she stops. She cups my face and places her lips on mine.

Time stopped for a while. I haven't done this with anyone before but the first thing on my mind was Aurelia and I kiss back...while imagining it was Aurelia Brooks.

I pull away after realizing myself and step back. She looks confused while I hold her hand.

"Listen... Emilia you're a very nice person but...I can't do this" I say.

"Why...can't you?"

"I...I don't believe in this. I don't have feelings for you."

"Then why did you kiss back?"

Because of Aurelia.

"I don't know" I reply coldly

"Did...you imagine it was someone else"

How the...

"If so then why did you say you don't believe in relationships when you like someone else"

"I don't like her"

"Yes you do. You're just in denial"
She sighs "I really like you but I won't force you. We could just be friends...if you'd want that"

"I do" I say already feeling relief

"Thanks. Take care, Lee" she says and I left her house.

After much thought I finally realize that Emilia was right.

I like Aurelia Brooks.
