Chapter twenty one

Levi

I wake up tied to a chair with a throbbing head ache. The last thing I remember was listening to Aurelia and her dad's discussion when I felt a piercing pain in my neck...then everything black.

I looked around when my eyesight got better and I saw Jeremy and Emilia also tied to each other on the floor. They looked unconscious.

"Jeremy" I force out. "Wake up, J!!" I try exclaiming.

"No mom. Five more minutes." He groans.

Goof.

Suddenly the door opens to reveal the last person I wanted to see.

Don.

"Well well well. I see someone finally woke up from his well deserved rest." He smirked, taking a chair from the corner and sits close to me.

"Where is Aurelia?" I say already feeling rage in my system.

"She's having a heart to heart talk with her father. Besides, she should be the least of your worries right now." He says pulling something out of his pocket. A lighter.

What The Heck.

"What are doing. Why are you doing this?!" I say struggling to get free. "What do you have against Aurelia?!" He laughs at this and whispers something to his goon. He then faced me to talk.

"I have nothing against your girlfriend, Anderson. You..." He starts but gets cut off by Jeremy.

"I'm up! I'm up!" He yells also waking Emilia. He looks around. "What did I miss?"

"From the looks of it..."Emilia starts "so much."

"Well children, it's story time." Don says circling us. "No interruptions, please" he sits again and proceeds in his story.

"I brought you in. Even after those snakes you call parents betrayed me." He says addressing me. "I took you in. Showed you the ropes. Taught you how to live...but how did you repay me?"

He stands up flipping the chair across the room.

"How the repay me?! You ratted me out to the police!" He leaned and began choking me while I my struggle increased. He finally released me.

"You're just like them. Those fools you call parents!" He finishes.

My choking subsided enough for me to speak. "I am not like them. I can never be like them."

"Don't interrupt me." He says lowly. "But when I got out, I found out that Levi is in school with a brother and father. I laid my case to the man who got me out" he chuckled softly "only to find he already hates you as much as I do."

Just then everything clicked. "Mr. Kingsbury." I say

"Smart" he confirms

"That fool!" Emilia exclaimed. "So help me I'll deal with..." She starts but received a slap from Don.

"Silence!" He screamed. Jeremy tried to retaliate but it proved futile.

"Mr. Kingsbury wants to get you out of Aurelia's life for distracting her and right now, I don't think he cares about what happens to her. So why not kill two birds with one stone." He says grinning evilly.

Just then the goon he had dismissed came back with what looked like a keg of...petrol. He hands it over to Don who take it and dismissed him.

"If you're lucky, your girlfriend will partake in this party. It all depends on her father." He opens up the lid and starts spilling the flammable chemical around us and on the walls of the room. "See you on the flip side, Anderson." He says leaving the room.

"Don't." I say while giving him a pleading look.

"Bye." He flicks on the lighter and tossed it in the room making causing a ring of fire around us earning a screech from Emilia and Jeremy.

We have some time to escape before  the flame reaches us.

We have to get out of here.

Aurelia

I was locked up in a room with my father telling me how I failed him as a daughter and how he wishes I was dead. I wasn't listening until he told me about him and Don's plan to kill Levi.

My Levi.

With that he left the room. A few minutes went by when I started to smell smoke.

Lee.

I rush and tried to open the door. To my surprise, it opened. What a bunch of fools. I rushed out of the room to look for where the smoke was coming from. There were no goons, guards or whatsoever. They had all left us in the building to burn and die.

Even my dad.

I saw the room with the smoke and saw levi struggling with the rope but I couldn't help cause of the fire.

"Aurelia leave here!" He cries out.

"No I won't. I'm going to save you.!" I screamed out. I saw Jeremy and Emilia choking on the floor.

"Aurelia save yourself. Please!" I looks at me with pleading eyes. "I can't loose you too."

"You won't. Hang on please!" With that I run out to find help only to bump into someone.

I look up only to see

Mr. Kane.

"Where are my boys?" He asks worried.
