Chapter sixteen

Today has been very eventful. It just went from please end to what the heck.

All these why, Aurelia has been in a forced relationship with someone who hits her? This makes no sense.

"Who is making you do this?" I ask her, silently praying that she is still awake.

"Dad. Pl... please don't let him find you here." She says closing her eyes drifting off to sleep. "He'll get mad, Levi" she says and falls asleep.

"I got water" Emilia says coming into the room

"Yeah thanks for coming a little too late" I say sarcastically

"What's wrong?" She asks sitting on the bed close to me. I guess she noticed my demeanor.

"Aurelia said she's being forced to be in a relationship with Blake...by her dad" I explained

"What!" She stands up but sits quickly again "Things finally make sense"

"What do you mean?"

"Aurelia's dad has always been... different. In the sense that he only cares about he's business and Blake's family is almost as rich as him" she explained "it only makes sense that he'll want to increase his earnings by associating with them... through their kids"

"Well what kind of job does he do?" I ask

"I don't know. He's very discreet when it comes to his job. I don't think Aurelia knows"

"And her mom?"

"She died some years ago."

Okay things just got serious. Aurelia's dad sounds shady and if I find that he's also laying his hands on my...on Aurelia, he's gonna wish that he's the dead parent.

I remember Aurelia saying I should leave before her dad gets back and I don't want her getting in trouble with him.

"Hey I'mma go now. Can you please stay with her...for the night?" I ask Emilia not sure what to expect as an answer.

"Of course. I will. She's actually...been through a lot." She says and looks down before muttering "some friend I was."

I pretend like I didn't hear and turn, running away from the house. I really hope she's ok. That fool Blake got lucky. I would have done more than dislocate his...

"Urgh!" I groan when I feel something hit my head causing me to fall on the floor.

I look up to see I was surrounded by a group of men...all holding metal pipes.

"Hello Levi" one of them spoke, crouching down to my level. "The Don sent a little message for you"

The Don? But he's in prison... unless

"He got out Levi. And he's coming for you. But for now..." He stands to his feet "a little something to say hello"

I kick his groin causing him to bend while I punch his face and pick up his pipe. I stand and attack the others but I didn't do much as I took another hit to the head making me fall again. I became a beating sack for the guys as they hit, punched and kicked everywhere and finally leaving me when they were satisfied with their work.

I tried standing but I couldn't. I looked around and saw that this was Jim's neighborhood. I pulled my phone had a cracked screen now and called Jim.

"Hello Levi. How's my favourite college student" he says

"Jim I need your help. I'm at #2 Smith street. Please...h..help" I say before things start getting blurry. The only thing I could hear was Jim over the phone.

"Levi what's wrong? Talk to me bud"

Then everything went black.

Jeremy

I'm at Natalie's party but can't find Lee anywhere. I went through the sea of drunk people to the back where I saw people gathered around. There were also medical staffs. I went closer only to see a drunk Blake's jaw being sent to it's original place.

Hilarious.
Lee's missing out. I decided to call him but his phone went straight to voicemail. That never happens.

I turn and see some shady looking guys talking to a now crying Blake. Blake points to me and the guys run towards me.

Lee I really need you now.

I run into the building hoping that the guys will get lost in the crowd. I make out and try calling Lee again but my phone is snatched. I see the guys in front of me.

"He's a little busy now" one of them say "the Don hates traitors. You are coming with us"

No way.

I kick his groin and snatch my phone. Lee taught me that one. I run away from them towards my car. I hop in and drive towards them. Seeing the danger, they all hop out of the way while I drive straight home.

I hope Lee's okay.
