As Jamie carried off a freezing cold Isla, he kept looking at her checking in on her to make sure she was alright. He looked and watched as she was starting to warm up which was a bit relieving for him to see that she was getting warmer. He didn't think that this close to Spring, the weather would grow to be this cold. He just wanted her to go to the cottage safe and sound. The cottage where she felt the safest, and the cottage where she felt the most like herself.
After almost half an hour of walking in the city, Jamie had finally found himself at the cottage. He placed Isla onto the ground and as she tried to reach the door, he watched as she struggled to open it, which had him opening the door for her. Jamie held the door for her and she walked inside with the help of Jamie.
"Get yourself something warm..." Jamie ordered, "Get yourself out of these wet clothes... is there anything..."
Isla nodded and found a cozy blue dress of hers. Isla looked at Jamie, hinting at him to look away as she was about to start changing. He did that and respected her wishes.
As Isla started to change, she started to feel her wet skin from the freezing cold water and did her best to dry herself off. She looked over to see that Jamie was still looking away and not acknowledging the thought of her not having clothes on the moment as she was putting on a drier dress. But then she put her hair down and was finally fully dressed. She then looked over to see that Jamie was preparing her a cup of tea. She did her best to acknowledge him, and see what he was doing and she also wanted to be close to him at that moment.
"Jamie." Isla called out, "I'm dressed."
Jamie walked over to her and gave her a cup of tea, she smiled and thanked him.
"Have a seat." Jamie ordered her, "You had a rough moment..."
Isla nodded and sat down next to him. Trying her best to make herself feel comfortable, which was hard to do given how uncomfortable the seating arrangements were. She looked over and Jamie and sipped her tea. Thanking him for everything that he was doing for her.
"You have a thing for rescuing me from near-death experiences don't you?" Isla asked,
"I guess I do..." Jamie answered a little unsure, "I didn't know I had it in me."
"Well... you do..." Isla added, "And I'm grateful for it."
"Stop..." Jamie started to say, not knowing why he was feeling the way he was. But he was grateful for how Isla was starting to feel towards him. He didn't know that he had all of it in him to be a hero and be better. Perhaps it was Isla that he needed, and he knew that now.
"What is it?" Isla asked,
Jamie sighed and started to think. His emotions were all over the place and he was wondering what was in the store for him next. There were so many options. So many options for him to figure out what to say next. He just wanted to figure out what he was going to say next. He didn't know.
Isla was just so mesmerizing and breathtaking to him. He just thought she looked even extra beautiful with her hair down. He didn't think that she would look the most beautiful when she was the most vulnerable.
He couldn't have imagined what would have happened if Isla would have died, he was beyond lucky that she had survived.
But Jamie had just found himself staring at her. But all he was doing was trying to snap out of it. Because he was still worried about hurting her.
"How are you feeling?" Jamie asked
"Better." Isla admitted, "But I'm a little tired."
"I'm sure you are, I don't know what I would have done if you died." Jamie admitted thinking carefully about what he was going to say next, "I have really grown to care for you, Isla..."
