The time passed, and it was time for Jamie to leave. and the two of them were waiting together at the bus station, waiting for the bus to arrive. It wasn't the happiest time for both Jamie and for Isla, but both of them were trying to be optimistic about the whole situation. Jamie was going to go away to war and both of them were hoping that he was going to make it out alive. Saying goodbye to her was going to be the hardest of it all for Jamie. Saying goodbye to the one thing that helped him get to where he needed to be today and the one that saved him from ruining his entire life. The two of them waited together for the bus to arrive, not knowing what was going to happen next. Isla kept her optimism, which was something she was best at. She just wanted the war to be over as soon as possible, and so did Jamie. The two of them were looking around, watching as spring was starting to grow closer and the flowers were blossoming more and more each day.

Isla saw it as a sign. She saw it as a sign that Jamie was going to return back to her. And the two of them were going to be happy together when everything was over with.

"They're beautiful aren't they?" Isla asked talking about the flowers.

"Yes. They are." Jamie said, "Every time I see one I'll think of you."

Isla smiled and started to look around, wondering when the bus was finally going to arrive. He told her not to worry about that and try to think about all of the good things that could be happening, and Jamie also promised to Isla that he was going to write to her as much as he possibly could. But then Isla started to take something out of her pocket, something that Jamie would have needed to remind him of her. Perhaps it was a good luck charm. A good luck charm that Jamie needed to survive. But a beautiful crumbled-up rose was there to remind Jamie that he was going to make it out of this war alive, and it was also brought to him to remind him of Isla. The girl who saved him as he was on the verge of disaster.

"It's beautiful." Jamie smiled, "What do I do if it dies?"

"Try not to think about that," Isla whispered and kissed his cheek. He didn't want this feeling to ever go away. He didn't want to leave her either. Isla hugged him again as tightly as she possibly could, she wanted this moment to last forever. But then time was ticking, time was ticking where it was almost time for Jamie to leave her, which he hated thinking about. And so did Isla. They knew that the bus could arrive at any moment. Jamie would have to hop on it, and look through the window, waving at Isla and reminding her how much he had loved her. He was going to see Isla shed maybe a tear or two as he was leaving on that bus. He was going to be equally as heartbroken leaving her. He didn't know what to do with himself, he was going to miss seeing her beautiful blue eyes and dark brown hair, along with her beautiful fair skin. He had never felt like this about anyone before. Not with Ciera, and certainly not with Mabel. He knew that he was meant to be with Isla at the end of everything.

They both watched as the bus arrived, and Jamie and Isla looked at each other. Knowing that this was it, this was where Jamie had to leave the woman he loved behind until who knew when. Or if he would ever return. Isla sighed, and then looked at Jamie.

"This is it." Jamie said,

"I know." Isla said hugging Jamie, "I really hope you make it out alive."

"Don't worry." Jamie said, "I will."

Jamie watched as the bus stopped. He sighed and looked over at Isla and walked over to her and kissed her on the lips one last time. This was the most passionate he had ever kissed anyone. He just didn't want it to end. As they let go of one another, Isla kissed Jamie's cheek one last time. She just couldn't help herself.

"I love you." Jamie whispered to Isla as he was taking a step onto the bus. He got on the bus and looked through the windows as he was walking to find a place to sit down. He saw as Isla was watching him leave, he sat down and looked out the window waving to Isla and took the rose that she gave him, and put it in his front pocket. He hated that he had to leave her and most importantly, he didn't know what he had done to deserve her. He felt the bus moving moments later and he couldn't stop himself from staring out the window. He noticed that Isla was still there, and she hadn't moved. She continued to wave as he was leaving, which was something that had made him happy.

He continued to wave to her back and he wanted to go back out there and kiss her. But he couldn't. He knew that would have been too dangerous. He just admired her beautiful face.

As he realized that the bus had left the bus stop, Jamie laid back and sighed. He had everything that he had ever wanted and he still had a lot to prove to everyone. Including himself. Things were working out in his favor, he was going into war, found someone that accepted him for who was, and didn't see him as a disaster waiting to happen. But he now was realizing that he was a better person than he thought that he was.

There was so much going on in his head when the bus was moving, making each stop. To start off, he started to think about what people were going to say when they found out he found someone completely different from Mabel, he knew that they would be proud of him, proud of him that he found someone that was finally going to make him happy. Jamie couldn't wait to tell every one of his friends about Isla. He didn't know if he was going to see anyone that he knew, maybe John, or Benedict, but he was also hoping to see Wesley and Simon. He also didn't know if they were going to make it out of the war alive or not. But he knew how strong all of them were, and all of them were going to stick together and they would be just fine.

Jamie didn't think that when the war was over, he would have anyone to return to. But then he remember that he was going to return to New York City with Isla, and the two of them were going to be happy together. He was going to make sure he would be the best husband in the world for her when they got married. He was excited to see Wesley, Simon, and Benedict. He couldn't wait to see how they would react to him being a different man.

Jamie then looked at the rose that was in his front pocket, and caught himself smiling. Smiling at Isla's gift, which gave him the reminder that he was going to be alright, and he was going to make it out of the war alive, and he was going to be with Isla and they were going to be alright.
